Heathen Beast - The Revolution Will Not Be Televised But It Will Be Heard

Heathen Beast have released their debut full-length after 10 years of career and numerous Eps and singles.
While this band plays in theory grindcore with black metal, you can’t really appreciate the black metal part of the music. This combination usually makes you think of bands like Blasphemy, or other war metal musicians, but this album is completely grindcore.
This Indian band combines the songs with speeches from the news in Hindu or English with a heavy Indian accent, and after 3 or 4 speeches it gets quite boring. The names of the songs or also very monotonous, as they all start by Fuck.
The vocals are quite odd, and they may not be very appealing to most people who aren’t into grindcore. What is curious is how half way into the album suddenly implements Indian folk music, but with sudden style shifts from the original genre of the song with no previous warning. There are also several breakdowns that aren’t expected neither.
While the album is overall monotonous and boring, there are a few good songs, like “Fuck Your Self Proclaimed Godmen”. If you’re a big fan of grindcore you may enjoy the whole album. If you’re specifically searching for new black metal albums this won’t be what you’re looking for though.
