BLACK BEAST – NOCTURNAL BLOODLUST (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Finnish Black Metal band Black Beast released last year their debut full-length, so today it shall be reviewed.
When a Finnish Black Metal band has antichrists in their logo and an album cover similar to Immortal’s “Diabolical Full Moon Mysticism” you know it will be pretty good, and this one is no exception.
This album is real Unholy Black Metal reminiscent of the 90’s when this was common, with its shrieks about Satan over restless drums and 3 note riffs. This primitive band perfectly fits within this description, and unlike most, they manage to make it sound really well.
It’s very similar to other Finnish bands like Horna or Warloghe, but it also reminds a lot of Besatt, obviously Darkthrone, Frost-era Enslaved or in the slower songs a bit like Carpathian Forest. What really makes it interesting are the vocals of Infernal Tormentor Necrocorpse von Demonblood, which are somewhat unique while fitting perfectly within this genre that leaves very few space for originality.

This album is very highly recommended if you enjoy Unholy Black Metal in the style of the original bands who made it. Hopefully they won’t disappear anytime soon into the vast pagan lands of ice and snow and instead they offer us more of their true satanic metal.
