ALYANZA – LIFE, HUMAN ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Catalonian Power Metal band Alyanza’s upcoming album, a slight return to the band’s returns mixed with further innovation.
You can still appreciate the Thrash Metal from previous albums on these songs to a certain degree, especially on “Lie Rotten False”. On other songs like “Star Of Heaven”, you certainly see how they used to play Power Metal, with this kind of combination reminding us of Paradox.
Filled with sweet sweep picking, this album has a lot more to offer, from catchy choruses aided by female backing vocals to an intro to “Directions” worthy of Steve Vai to harsh vocals that, combined with certain melodies in some songs, seems more like modern Kreator, Children Of Bodom or Arch Enemy than to bands of their style.

Recommend this album to fans of Neoclassical Metal, (very early) Power Metal and Melodic Death Metal. This album marks a distancing from their Thrash Metal works, but it is an interesting new direction.
