Draconian Times - 25th Anniversary - pre-order your copy now!

“It’s in Draconian Times’ personality, though, that its true magic lay. The opening piano that moodily begins the album’s starting pitch, Enchantment, is a perfect tone setter for the shades of darkness that follow, but there’s a thunderous, pumping power in songs like Hallowed Land, Once Solemn and huge single The Last Time.”

ENCHANTMENT
‘All I need is a simple reminder’ is considered the “tag line” of the song, and I’m pretty sure it was the first lyrics written; it served as a basis for the rest of the song. Touch and feel are senses that remind you that something is real. In the same respect, I was trying to make some sense about mortality and the reminder that death is very real and never too far away.’
HANDS OF REASON
‘For this song, the lyrical inspiration came from thinking about human beings trying to rationalise things that can’t ever be rationalised. There’s so much about the world we don’t know or could ever explain. Even though we’ve advanced as a species, we still have a primitive streak that will undoubtedly end up blowing us back to the Stone Age’
