SAPROPHYTE IN BLOOM – WHEN ROOTS ARE ROTTEN (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Swedish Symphonic Metal band Saprophyte In Bloom have released their debut EP, consisting in 3 diverse songs that show us what they’re capable of.
Starting as if it were of the sweetest type of music with soft female vocals, it suddenly turns heavier almost into Death Metal, with a great vocal performance aided by technical drums and complex riffs. Later, once the solo comes in, you definitely realise how this is not an average band, but one with a bright future and a great potential.
If you still don’t think this band is unique, you also have Thomas Vikström from Therion as a special guest on the third song to prove the magnificence of the EP. Nevertheless, if you don’t enjoy music only based on the musician’s ability, then this band is not for you, since they solely rely on this when composing their songs.
I recommend this album if you enjoy Symphonic Metal, especially when it’s female fronted.
