SONG OF ANHUBIS – REVERSED REFLECTION ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

After 4 years of silence, this October Basque Gothic Metal band Song Of Anhubis are releasing their second album.
With an incredible vocal range, this voice is undeniably what’s best of the album, but as so it is quite overused, leaving too little space for instrumental bits. Nevertheless, this album surely expands the horizons of the style a lot, highly reminding of Lacuna Coil or the hip hop influences of Evanescence, but this album has a lot more parts of electronic music, to the point that it can’t really be considered completely metal.
With this high stylistic and vocal range, they manage to transmit a lot of things with the music, but not in the style most conventional for metal. On this album they clearly define what they’re able to do, and to what kind of public it’s thought for.
I recommend this album if you like Gothic Metal, Electronic Music, female-fronted Nu Metal and anything that may relate all of this.
