ANTHENORA – MIRRORS AND SCREENS ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Italian Heavy Metal band AnthenorA’s new album, out on November 27th.
This is their first album in a long time, and they have returned quite strong, taking heavy influences American Hard Rock (especially in the amount of yeahs), but taking it a step higher into a heavier and more metal level. Most songs are also pretty epic, with a slightly modern touch that doesn’t quite kill the old-school part of the album. A clear example of this is “Alive”, a short yet epic song with a strong bass presence that compliments all the rest to achieve a unique sound.
Also notable are the lengthy and melodic solos, that may sometimes remind us of Mr. Big or Nitro, while the heavy presence of acoustic guitars (take for instance the ballad “Bully Lover”) show the commercial capability of the band while not completely sacrificing their sound. While the album may be a little too long, it is quite diverse and full of surprises for the listener.
recommend this album to fans of Heavy Metal and American Hard Rock. My rating is of 8,5/10.
