INVERNOIR – THE VOID AND THE UNBEARABLE LOSS (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Italian Death Doom Metal band Invernoir’s new album.
This album oscillates between the coldest, most melancholic, Gothic and Katatonia-like side of the genre and the heaviest, slowest, most oppressing and almost Funeral Doom side of it. The combination is well achieved thanks to numerous arpeggios and deep yet simplistic riffs combined with an adaptable voice that has no problem with alternating languages besides vocal techniques.
These 8 tracks give us the elegance and beauty of bereavement without fully oppressing into suicide yet not helping with the absconding of pain. This album may seem light on some parts, but also has its heavier pieces that are surprisingly well combined with no need for leaving the genre of Doom Metal.
I recommend this album to fans of Death Doom Metal, Funeral Doom Metal and Gothic Doom Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
