VENOMOUS – TRIBUS ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Brazilian Melodic Death Metal band Venomous’ upcoming EP, out on February.

The EP consists of 4 tracks that sound pretty common but also implement some originality. For example, there is sometimes a piano ambience that creates some deep atmosphere and adds some nice layers to their sound, while the guitars combine some technicality with Djent-like riffs.

While no song really stands out more than the rest, the voice also adds some quality to the music, with some pseudo-guttural vocals combined with “Catch-22”-era Hypocrisy clear vocals that fit the melodies that also have some similitude to that album, especially on “Duality”. The EP combines pretty well the melodic side with the more aggressive one, but not enough as to really stand out as a really innovative release. Nonetheless, these songs are pretty enjoyable if you’re in the mood for them.

I recommend this to fans of Melodic Death Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
