We are happy to welcome a new artist to the Brutal Records Roster HEVILAN has signed a deal with the label for worldwide release the title album "Symphony of Good and Evil"

Notorious Heavy Symphonic Metaloutfit HEVILAN Return with the frantic new album "The Symphony of Good and Evil" they have what it takes to make this style very pleasing and demanding and could really satisfy everyone with their tightrope walk, release by Brutal Records March 19th, 2021

  HEVILAN:
  Johnny Moraes – Guitar
  Alex Pasqualle – Vocals
  Biek Yohaitus – Bass
  Rafael Dyszy – Drums

Hevilan “Symphony of Good and Evil” is an album that contains more than its share of battering rhythms and finely honed, razor-edged riffing, the vocal acrobatics of Alex Pasqualle are solely in the spotlight on compelling symphonies of sludgy, operatic metal like the monstrous leadoff cut "Dark Paradise" and the chillingly thunderous "Great Battle".

The chunky riffing, heavy character and the grit in some of the vocals definitely place HEVILAN more towards the modern heavy prog symphonic metal, but at the same time the melodies, the very good use of a choir and the dynamics and energy clearly show that their roots are firmly planted into the traditional heavy/power metal soil of Brazil. And if Hevilan’s sound would have to be condensed into one word, then “powerful” would probably one of the first ones to come to mind, because the riffing is nothing short of punishing and stands closer to heavy metal than symphonic metal most of the time.

When HEVILAN get going, though, they really go at it, like powerful “Rebellion of the saints”, speed hammer “Devil within part I & II” or the excellent ballad “Always in my dreams”, where the Brazilians prove that they don’t have to hide behind anybody.

HEVILAN was then born, a group that primes for the virtuosity and musical development, in all of its forms. In 2006, the first work was released: “Blinded Faith” is a three track EP that served to introduce HEVILAN to the general public and specialized media. The recording brings up a fantastic composition work, and lyrics that protest against any form of mind alienation. Hevilan “Johnny Moraes” In April 2014, he was chosen to play as a sideman to Warrel Dane (Nevermore, Sanctuary) in his Brazilian tour.

Sanctuary and Nevermore as well as a solo artist, in 2014 Warrel had teamed up with Brazilian musicians Johnny Moraes (guitar), Thiago Oliveira (guitar), Fabio Carito (bass) and Marcus Dotta (drums) as his touring band and ultimately this successful collaboration led to plans for a new studio album. Recordings for “Shadow Work”, the follow-up to 2008’s “Praises to the War Machine”, started in fall 2017 at Orra Meu Studio, São Paulo, and Travis Smith commenced to create the artwork following a concept and ideas previously discussed with Warrel. In the year 2005, with some songs written, guitarist Johnny Moraes decides to assembly a heavy metal band with a heavier and more melodic orientation. In the search for musicians that could share his same ideals, he finds Biek Yohaitus and Alex Pasqualle (bass and vocals, respectively).
