ZWETWEZEN – MIGHTY SWORDS OF EVIL ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Belgian Black Metal band Zwetwezen’s demo “Mighty Swords Of Evil”.

This demo displays some raw and old-school Black Metal with those slow rhythms where the ride is used so much like in Burzum. With some really low recording quality and pure Black Metal vocals, this demo truly is pure evil and darkness in its most common form.

Notably, the album has a high use of keyboards too, sometimes in a Dungeon Synth way that kind of reminds of Evilfeast. This saturated and distorted demo sure is typical, but that doesn’t mean it has some nice memorable songs, like “Forests Of Sorrow”, “Dark Path Through Warriorlands” or the lengthy and synth-filled “Crossing The Black Spheres”.

I recommend this album to fans of Black Metal, Unholy Black Metal and Ambient Black Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
