ZWETWEZEN – THE WRATH OF SATAN ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Belgian Black Metal band Zwetwezen’s album “The Wrath Of Satan”.

Although too excessively long, this release includes pretty curious tracks. While most are pretty average yet not bad Unholy Black Metal, others have nice elements of Dungeon Synth and finally songs like “Eternal Bleeding Of The Infernal Soul” or “Buried In Cursed Burial Grounds” have a psychedelic feeling to them that may remind us of BlutAus Nord brought towards a rawer realm of darkness.

Also notably, the title track is perhaps the eeriest song in the album. While it’s hard to discern properly the multiple sounds, it has a mysterious aura of noise to it that makes it different from the other songs in an experimental direction that is not commonly trodden. Overall this release is average, but certain tracks make it one of the band’s most experimental album, and that sure makes it interesting.

I recommend this to fans of Unholy Black Metal, Ambient Black Metal, Experimental Black Metal and Psychedelic Black Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
