NOCTURNAL HOLLOW – TRIUMPHANTLY EVIL (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Venezuelan Death Metal band Nocturnal Hollow’s new album.

This album definitely reminisces old-school Swedish Death Metal. Not only thanks to its recording quality and powerful riffs, but the songs as a whole also seem to carry the same original feeling. In fact, the most precise comparison would be with Dismember, taking in consideration their hints of Rock & Roll, their straightforward approach, their inclusion of simple yet good melodies and especially the high quality of their music.

Nonetheless, the similarity with Dismember also carries the same problematic similitude with all the album’s tracks, provoking a sort of lack of individuality in each song, perhaps even more notable than in their inspiration. However, this is addressed to some extent with an enjoyable cover of Slayer’s Necrophiliac.

I recommend this album to fans of Swedish Death Metal. My rating is of 9/10.
