SATANATH – URBAN APOCALYPSE (Review by Varg The Mighty)

Today’s review is of Russian Dark Ambient project Satanath’s album “Urban Apocalypse”, celebrating its recent rerelease.

This release offers 17 tracks of ominous sonorities with little to no melody that will transport the listener to a sci-fi dystopian future of bleak urban desolation through their ambience. Although it may feel too long and monotonous to just listen to it attentively, the album creates an eerie aura that may serve well to tint in some darkness any activity you are doing.

These pure electronic soundscapes sometimes encounter some subtle percussion that comes and goes, serving as a guiding point in the full-length’s vastness. Fans of anything gloomy that want some relaxed music that creates the same unrest or even more than noisier music genres should check it out. No highlights are needed on this one, for a good experience may only be achieved by listening to the whole thing.

I recommend this album to fans of Dark Ambient. My rating is of 8,5/10.
