Today’s review is of Austrian Progressive Death Metal band Lichtspielhaus’ debut album.
This release offers some exceedingly technical and curiously atmospheric kind of Progressive Death Metal that will dazzle you with disorienting rhythms and captivate you with its many melodies.
With an outstanding performance of highly compressed bass, dark arpeggios, jazzy sections and furious vocals, this is a solid debut that offers much more than just a display of prowess. Even fans of certain Atmospheric Black Metal bands may enjoy this one despite it being more Death oriented. Once you step into this sonic maelstrom, there’s no escape until its end. My personal highlights are the title track and “Himmelsband”.
I recommend this album to fans of Progressive Death Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
