PERCEIVED - "Darkening"

"Darkening" is the third and final single to be released from the forthcoming debut EP by the Dallas, TX based rock band Perceived. Attached you'll find the singles artwork, the mp3, and the ISRC code for the track "Darkening'' as well as a promo photo of the band and logo. The official release date is Friday October 2nd at 12:00a.m. Should you choose to air this track before it's official release date, please add a note that it is a sneak preview. Thank you for your time and consideration .

Bio -
Perceived is a three piece rock band out of Dallas Texas. Formed in May of 2018, long time friends of over 20 years, Chris Bell and Charlie McBride, decided to get together and work on some old songs as well as write new material with the help of their very good friend and bass player, Kevin Crawley. After a few rehearsals, it was very noticeable that things were just starting to click naturally between the three. After writing and working on material for over a year, Perceived played their first show in May of 2019 to a well received crowd and has since performed with multiple local and national acts all around the DFW area. With so many different influences, their sound can't really be described by one genre. Their dynamic compositions range from melodic melodies to heavier breakdowns. Due to release their debut EP Friday October 30th, Perceived is definitely a band to keep an eye (or ear) out for.

Horror Dance Squad

The long wait is over. Horror Dance Squad’s highly anticipated new album No Flag Will Fly Forever is now available on all major streaming platforms. Saturated in the band’s signature blend of metalcore and punk, Estonia’s shining star in the metal scene delivers anthem after anthem for those who are adamant about making this world a better place and speaking out against tyranny.

“The album is our most ambitious work by far,” exclaims vocalist Karl Mesipuu. “It is our deepest dive into the style we have crafted for ourselves and truly embodies the values and spirit of the band. Lyrically, emotionally and musically this is as honest I have ever been in music. The record was born purely out of working on something we love together. This is Horror Dance Squad at its best. We worked hard to challenge ourselves as songwriters to make sure we wrote the best tracks we could.” Guitarist Indrek Ulp adds, "We wanted to write music that we would enjoy ourselves if we were in front of the stage. All of the songs went through multiple changes before they came fully together. Before they were exactly how we wanted them.”

Concerning the lyrics, vocalist Ian Karell explains, “No Flag Will Fly Forever is a collection of songs exploring essential topics both eternal and specific to this era of humanity’s evolution. From the things that affect us all: climate change, racism, overt nationalism, the dangerous rise of the new fascist movements all around the world, injustice in our social and political systems; to the intensely personal experiences of spiritual and psychological growth and relationship health, this album is a voyage through the human condition as we experience it in our day and age.”

Horror Dance Squad’s songs have always had a finger on the pulse of current events and the band constantly works towards delivering a message of hope and unity, even when things seem their darkest. “The title for the album comes from the idea that in our evolution as human beings there are few things that remain constant but many things that come and go,” Ian explains. “Borders change, money changes, languages change, rules change, religions change, flags change--but we remain human. And as humans, we are more the same on the inside than what we see on the outside.”

“All tracks from the album were recorded in Tallinn, Estonia with the help of Sander Sadam and were mixed and mastered by Cody Stewart (The Browning) in Los Angeles, USA. The whole process was a massive undertaking for us both technically as well as musically” says guitarist Mikk Peetrimägi. Spanning over two years of writing and recording, No Flag Will Fly Forever is certain to solidify Horror Dance Squad’s status as a band to be reckoned with in the Baltic metal scene.

Drummer Henri Kuusk sums it up: “This album touches on so many topics that I feel people need to pay more attention to and the whole process has helped me go through some heavy personal struggles which I was able to get out and into these tracks. Overall, I feel I not only became a better drummer but also as a person.”

Alongside the album, the band has also released the music video for their latest single Burn This Place Down. Inspired by the controversy surrounding Melania Trump’s infamous “I really don’t care, do you?” jacket, the lyrics speak out against apathetic leaders more concerned with their own personal greed than the people they are supposed to care for and lead with compassion.

“This video was our biggest and most ambitious video to date,” drummer Henri Kuusk shares. “With close to 80 people in cast and crew, including fire cannons, dancers, fire sculptures and a fire-breather, this shoot was one we will never forget.”

Australia's savage thrash/death veterans In Malice's Wake proudly announce the first single/video for their upcoming album, The Blindness of Faith. The Blindness of Faith is scheduled for worldwide release on Friday the 13th of November. Presale is now available (see links below).

The video is the title track and opener of the album. Utilizing intense and intimate footage from the band's rehearsal room, this track showcases the bludgeoning darkness that is a prominent hallmark of the album in its entirety. The song is "a sinister and relentlessly pummelling epic of modern yet true thrash metal" says Lochlan Watt from Triple J's The Racket.

The album The Blindness of Faith is a journey into the dark side of religion, narrated by the harrowing In Malice's Wake sound - haunting melodies, an onslaught of classic riffs and drumming and vocals that resonate from the depths of hell.  The album is a further push along the extreme path of darkness and brutality set upon by the previous album, Light Upon the Wicked.  Recorded & mixed by Chris Themelco at Monolith Studios, and mastered at Panic Room studios - The Blindness of Faith screams with the sonic fire that In Malice's Wake are renowned for. In Malice’s Wake are proud of all that has been achieved on the path so far and are ravenous to break new ground slaying a legion of new listeners in the next chapter with The Blindness of Faith - the strongest album yet. Truly thrash metal as it should be - unholy, destroying sonic fire...

The cover art, painted in oil by guitarist/vocalist Shaun Farrugia, is a reflection of the atmosphere and destruction contained within the 10 tracks on offer.

Line-up:
Shaun Farrugia - Vocals/Guitars
Leigh Bartley - Lead Guitars
Karl Watterson - Bass
Mark Farrugia - Drums

In Malice’s Wake have established themselves as the dominant thrash/death metal force for well over a decade in Australia.  Each full-length release has pushed further into darker and heavier territory. The combined trademark riffing style, intense speed, blasts/tremolo picking, and haunting melodies are integral to the recognisable sound of In Malice’s Wake. More importantly, it is the memorable songwriting and originality that the band has become truly renowned for. Each track speaks its own story and stays with the listener long after the album has ceased to play.  In the current intensely populated marketplace - great songs is the only currency of value.

In Malice’s Wake have toured Australia and New Zealand and supported many of the greats, including Bloodbath, Destruction, At The Gates, The Haunted, Voivod, Napalm Death, Toxic Holocaust, Angelus Apatrida, Goatwhore, Forbidden, Krisiun and Warbringer. In Malice's Wake regularly headline Melbourne shows and festivals, and the band is renowned for its infamously violent pit and energetic fan base. In Malice’s Wake have a built a ravenous following via an old-school approach – sincere, destructive music and endless live assaults. The live CD-DVD feature that was released “Visions of Live Destruction” was a tribute to the incredible fan base the band have in Melbourne.

Acrolysis: Release Details For New EP The Nobody Crowd & Video Release A Message To You

Australian heavy metal bands Acrolysis and Reaver release their collaborative sophomore EP, The Nobody Crowd. The record is a ferocious experience featuring expressive, riff driven guitars, blistering speed harsh, vocals and its socially conscious message. It is centred around illustrating both bands’ uniqueness and especial characteristics in not only sound but in composition as well. The EP also features two songs which were composed together by members of both bands, creating music that excitingly blends their styles together and presents musical ideas that may have not been considered if not for their willingness to experiment and be out of their comfort zones. Acrolysis and Reaver utilise their similar influences and distinct differences to create a record that is sonically a ‘kick in the teeth’ but thematically explores corruption, temptation, cruelty and unity.

Today Acrolysis release the first single/video A Message To You from the upcoming EP. Acrolysis vocalist and guitarist/Reaver bassist Konstantine Ana says about the song: “A Message to You is a sonic assault on all senses. It epitomises anger and aggression, discussing themes of corruption and manipulation. Portrayed in a more rudimentary way with its basic and common musical structure, it attempts to encapsulate the anger felt towards political and social institutions, their seemingly never ending corruption and the disappointment and upset that goes with it. Taking elements of thrash metal and punk akin to Dead Kennedys, the Saints, Motörhead and Metallica, A Message to You really embodies what Acrolysis is about.”

Being from the same scene and city, Acrolysis and Reaver took a liking to each other’s sound and over the years a friendship developed which lead to Konstantine Ana joining Reaver as their bassist in 2020 whilst maintaining his role in Acrolysis. Interestingly, the idea of a joint recording was suggested between the band members in 2018 and two years later, now culminates into the ravenous four track EP titled The Nobody Crowd

Acrolysis' single is now available for download on their Bandcamp page.

Acrolysis are:
Konstantine Ana - Vocals & Guitar
Amit Bamay - Drums
Mytal Baba - Bass

In 2017, Konstantine Ana (vocals/guitar) would form a band Acrolysis with like minded musicians Amit Bamay (drums) and Mytal Baba (bass). They used it as a medium to express their point of view both political and social. They combined 80s thrash metal with 90s grunge/alternative and punk to create an intense and extreme sound inspired by artists like Metallica, Soundgarden and Dead Kennedys. They hit the stages of pubs and clubs and their sound was defined by their heavy riffs, aggressive sound, quirky vocality and their distinct social awareness. In 2019, they released their debut EP Black Dog’s Serenade, being an impressive first effort from the newcomers and putting their names out there. They would tap into the political zeitgeist and discuss themes of corrupt institutionalism and the influence of media.

EARLY MOODS stream DYING VICTIMS debut mini-album in advance of its release date

Today, American doom upstarts Early Moods stream the entirety of their highly anticipated debut mini-album, Spellbound, in its advance of its release date. Set for international release on September 25th via Dying Victims Productions, hear Early Moods Spellbound in its entirety HERE at Dying Victims' Bandcamp.

Hailing from Los Angeles, Early Moods formed in 2015 as an amalgamation of various experienced acts such as Rude, Fortress (California), (ex-)Skeletal Remains, and Nightmare (USA). From the beginning, the goal was simple yet sturdy: to pay homage to such classic bands as Candlemass, Witchfinder General, Pentagram, Trouble, and the almighty Black Sabbath. However, it wasn’t until 2020 when the band’s first recording appeared, originally self-released digitally on April 20
th.

Bearing the evocative title Spellbound, form surely meets content here, as Early Moods entrance the listener with molten grooves and bewitching atmosphere; this is tried-and-true HEAVY DOOM that doesn’t step past 1980! Naturally, traces of the aforementioned influences are tastefully spread across the 27-minute record, but each of its five component songs convey an alluring, addicting identity that’s entirely their own. Not for nothing are Early Moods monikered as such, for their aeons-old aura and doomed-out swagger bespeaks an impossibly eldritch aspect – precisely, the kind’s perfect for proto-doom and its eventual genesis into traditional doom.

Darkly colored with sulfurous leads that’ll ruin your day, Early Moods dare you to gaze into their crystal ball and become Spellbound!

Fully gaze that crystal ball  HERE at Dying Victims' Bandcamp. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

1. Spellbound [4:29]
2. Starless [5:09]
