Brother Firetribe raise a storm with a breath-taking flight video and single 'Thunder Rising'. The fighter plane song inspired by Top Gun originated from a fan request

The Finnish hard rock act Brother Firetribe released their acclaimed album Feel The Burn, filled with charming vibes from the 80's, last September. After the pandemic wiped out their touring schedule, the band took on a new venture by releasing the short movie Night Drive, starring renowned Finnish actors and singer Pekka Heino. Now the group is at it again, but this time, instead of cruising with big American cars, it's time to look up in the sky, as Brother Firetribe release a phenomenal flight video to go along with their new single 'Thunder Rising'.

"Living in these weirdest of times we sat down one night, lit a few candles, opened up a nice bottle of red and had a long talk about what to do. It was clear that we really had no other options than to write a song about… fighter planes. Get ready – thunder’s rising!" singer Pekka Heino jokes around.

The actual story behind the song is that it all started with a fan request: the aerobatic pilots of SKYTEXTER contacted the band, asking them about the possibility of getting a theme song to use in their performances. Brother Firetribe took the request seriously and went one step further, and ended up composing a Top Gun inspired fighter plane song called Thunder Rising. The rock song, climaxing to a marvelous guitar solo and oozing with kerosine, needed a matching music video – and the band got what they asked for.

"Filming this kind of material is very expensive, but the project was done as a collaboration: the band wrote the song and SKYTEXTER shot the footage exclusively for Brother Firetribe. We then filmed the band's parts on a runway, and the result of all this can be seen on the video. The group of SKYTEXTER are the absolute cream of the crop in acrobatic flying in the world, so this is definitely a breath-taking, stunning and a phenomenal video", the video's producer Jani Wilund says.

Brother Firetribe's summer gigs are starting up in about a month's time. The band is touring in Finland as follows:

AUTUMNFALL: Finnish Melodic Black Metal Trio Featuring Former Members of Fall Of The Leafe, Funeral Feast, And More Sign To Transcending Records; Band To Release Ghosts Of Light Debut On CD/Vinyl Later This Year

Finnish melodic black metal trio AUTUMNFALL has joined Transcending Records for the physical release of their stunning Ghosts Of Light debut later this year.

Formed in the Summer of 2019 by Jussi Hänninen (ex-Fall Of The Leafe, ex-Unhola), AUTUMNFALL is an indirect continuation to Fall Of The Leafe's first two melodic death/folk metal-tinged records from the late ‘90s. Hänninen recruited Tero Ruohonen on vocals before a demo was recorded in late 2019 and released in the beginning of 2020. In between the recording and release, Olli Pirkkanen (Funeral Feast, Mind Abduction, ex-Faerghail, ex-Panzerkvlt, ex-Cremated live, ex-Scapes) joined the band on drums. Together the band began work on what would become their debut full-length, Ghosts Of Light.

The record was written and recorded in several locales and occasions between 2019 and 2020, and mixed and mastered by the capable hands of Eero Seppälä (Blacksmith Audio). Ghosts Of Light was released digitally in April of 2021 and will see release on CD and vinyl later this year via Transcending Records.

Comments vocalist Tero Ruohonen, "We are thrilled and honored to be signed to a label such as Transcending Records. We knew we had a good album in our hands but the amount of interest towards us was overwhelming. After careful consideration, we chose to work with Transcending and we couldn't be happier to join their ranks."

Adds Transcending label head Mike Ramirez, "As fans of Fall Of The Leafe, AUTUMNFALL was on our radar when they initially released their demo last year. I'd actually meant to reach out to them at that point, but things got lost in the Covid shuffle. Suddenly they had their debut album ready and we made a point to get them added to the roster."

Stand by for further info on AUTUMNFALL in the weeks to come.

AUTUMNFALL's emotive mixture of early melodic death metal and black metal with folkish melodies and ethereal atmospheres feels as nostalgic as it truly is… Ghosts Of Light, the band's first proper album, is a living relic and a testament to Jussi Hänninen's steadfastness to a sound he revolutionized so long ago.” – Invisible Oranges

YAKUZA To Begin Recording First New Studio Album In Ten Years; Back Catalog To See Reissue On Vinyl Via War Crime Recordings!

Chicago’s YAKUZA will begin recording their long-awaited, as-yet-untitled new studio album!

The band will enter Palisades Studio with engineer Sanford Parker (Yob, Voivod) later this month. The recording will be completed and mixed at Parker’s own Hypercube Studios. Set for worldwide release in the Spring of 2022, the record follows their critically lauded Beyul full-length (2012) and marks YAUKZA’s first official studio output in ten years!

Offers vocalist/saxophonist Bruce Lamont, “Ten years! You would think that a bunch has changed, Well, some has and some hasn’t. The shronky, heavy, hairpin tempo shifts are still there, now add more bottom end thanks to current bassist Jerome Marshall. This new batch of tunes is a nice mix of weird and riffy and we couldn’t be happier with how everything has come together.”

Adds bassist Jerome Marshall, “It’s a return to form from the origins of where the band began. A return to post-metal, avant-garde jazz-influenced heavy chaos with the structural balance of intrinsic order.”

The record will be released in North America via Lamont and Parker’s joint imprint, War Crime Recordings, with Svart Recordings handling Europe and beyond.

In related news, War Crime Recordings will reissue the YAKUZA back catalog on a limited-edition LP throughout the coming months. First up is 2012’s Beyul which has never before been available on vinyl.

Comments Lamont, “We over at War Crime Recordings have had a plan for a number of years to reissue all the YAKUZA LPs that haven’t seen the light day and then reissue the ones that have. Beyul was an obvious first choice. Originally released back in 2012 through Profound Lore, this reissue is a single LP gatefold edition. The mastering for the LP was done back in 2012 by Colin Jordon and we couldn’t be happier with the result. Next up...Way Of The Dead!”

Limited to 200 copies on translucent brown vinyl, order Beyul at THIS LOCATION.

YAKUZA:
James Staffel - drums
Matt Mcclelland – guitar, vocals
Jerome Marshall – bass, vocals
Bruce Lamont – vocals, saxophones
