Today’s review is of Swedish Heavy Metal band Mindless Sinner’s classic “Turn On The Power” album, since it will be rereleased on vinyl on April 30th.
This album is a really ideal representation of Heavy Metal, with all of the topics and composition characteristics of the time. Very similar to the contemporary NWOBHM, this band should be what you turn on if you feel like listening to some old-school gem.
With a slightly fast-paced approach on some songs like “We Go Together” and a steadier tempo on tracks like “I’m Gonna (Have Some Fun)”, the album reminds highly of your average British band, although they also add some touches of Swedish Heavy Metal to their music. If you’re interested in collecting classic albums or you simply want your dose of old-school glory, you may want to check this out.
I recommend this album to fans of Heavy Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
