METALLICA’S ‘NO REMORSE’

LIGHTNING TO THE NATIONS 2020

NEARS RELEASE

Pre-orders available here

When Diamond Head first released Lightning To The Nations 40 years ago in 1980, few could have predicted the importance it would carry with regards to heavy metal’s new wave and sound.  Stacked and packed with riffs, Lightning To The Nations would be one of the prime catalysts for a movement known as the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM).

Re-imagined, re-recorded and re-born in 2020, Diamond Head’s forthcoming 40-year celebration of their genre-defining debut album is a scintillating shot of fresh metal energy.  With Lightning To The Nations 2020 nearing release, listeners will soon experience not only the rare phenomenon of crisp, fresh and new sounding songs with very little of the obvious original elements altered, they will also be treated to four supreme cover versions… And in prime position stands Metallica’s ‘No Remorse’.

With Diamond Head having featured so heavily in Metallica’s early career, the cover of ‘No Remorse’ seems especially appropriate.  Accompanying the release of this monumental track, Diamond Head also unveil their thought-provoking animated video, created and directed by Costin Chioreanu

“I wanted to cover a song from Metallica’s debut album, Kill ‘Em All explains founding member Brian Tatler. “Partly because Metallica covered songs from Diamond Head’s debut album Lightning To The Nations and it felt like things have come full-circle to me.  None of the band members knew how to play any of the songs from Kill ‘Em All and I eventually decided we should all learn ‘No Remorse’.  Then when we got into the rehearsal room, we played ‘No Remorse’ and immediately it just sounded great, it was very “Diamond Head” and it really suited us as a band.  Of the four covers we ended up doing, ‘No Remorse’ sounded the best straight away.  I’ve seen Metallica live over twenty times and they don’t play ‘No Remorse’ very often, but it’s always great when they do!”

“Of all the four covers, we almost didn’t have to work on ‘No Remorse’,” furthers singer and producer Rasmus Bom Andersen; “we all had to learn the parts, and it’s very difficult to play, but in rehearsal it did sound fantastic and we thought: “yeah, yeah, it’s gonna be mega”. It was almost surreal when we did it because it just felt incredibly familiar.”

Watch/Listen to ‘No Remorse here; watch/listen to the recently released ‘Am I Evil?’ and ‘It’s Electric at this location

Recorded over several sessions between various locations, from France to band members’ home studios, Lightning To The Nations 2020 central hub was Andersen’s Raw Sound Studios in London.  It’s where Brian and Abbz did the guitars in February and March of this year, and then with the COVID-19 chaos striking, Andersen worked on the album between April and July, with Tatler’s watchful ear inspecting final mixes and tweaks in early August before sending off to mastering at Metropolis Studios in London.

This edition of the album sees Diamond Head spreading their wings and creating the heaviest of homages also to Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest and Deep Purple Lightning To The Nations 2020 will be released on November 27th 2020, via Silver Lining Music.  Available in multiple formats, special D2C bundles, including a limited edition autographed ‘No Remorse’ poster.  For pre-orders, go to THIS LOCATION.

BEYOND SALVATION Sets Us Free From Inner Demons With the New Single “Aftermath”

BEYOND SALVATION Sets Us Free From Inner Demons With the New Single “Aftermath”

UK thrash metal power trio BEYOND SALVATION is proud to announce the new single Aftermath. One lyric video has been unleashed for the track – watch it now: https://youtu.be/ebewNJ0yyBI

BEYOND SALVATION is a metal band from Manchester UK with thrash at the heart. There are also strong influences of groove and death metal to be found mixed within the skull crushing riffs. Added to this a hardcore inspired vocal deliveries a fresh take on the genre is found with BEYOND SALVATION. Breaking away from current trends all material is performed in standard tuning letting the song writing bring the heaviness standing out from the crowd by not relying on drop tuning.

The new single Aftermath deals with our inner demons, with the psychological blocks that prevent us from having a fully happy life, with a sense of individual responsibility that, especially in these times, turns out to be crucial but absent. Vocalist and guitarist Jon Pedley stated:

Aftermath is a song about suffering, reflection and liberation. Taking a hard look at oneself to realise that something is holding you back from who you truly should be. Making the stand to break away from this hold to then relish in the accomplishment and the demise of past demons. Over time I’ve found the lyrics to relate to different aspects of life… Personal rivalries, inner conflicts or a reflection on the struggle we as a society are now going through. I suppose as always with music the final interpretation is up to the listener.”

Aftermath has been produced by BEYOND SALVATION. Drums recorded and engineered by Chris Taylor at NoiseBoy Studios, while the vocals have been recorded and engineered by Owen Alec Ashworth at Silver Lining Studios. Mixed by John Pedley. Mastered by Lee Anthony Calpee. Artwork by John Pedley (Pedley Art).

Truth Decayed is a South African Thrash Metal band founded by long time friends, Warren Jones and Ryno Theron. Warren Jones played for the promising Durban Metal band "Mystical Element" early in his music career.

More later ventures include the successful "Metallica, Kill Em All Tribute" in Durban. Ryno Theron has played in numerous Durban Metal bands, most notably "Throne". He has also for the last few years built up a solid solo career which has seen him release his critically acclaimed "Howling Rush" album, and perform at Smoking Dragon festival, Splashy Fen and more.

To make up the four piece, Warren brought in Johan Maree (bass) and Brandon Carey (drums). Johan is a newbie to the music scene, but packed with talent and passion. Brandon was part of the popular Stigmata Dawn. In his time in Stigmata Dawn, he performed at numerous festivals including Thornfest, Mutherfudd, Season's Wither and Witchfest (When Carcass headlined) to name a few.

With this complete line up they are a new band, with big goals. Developing as a "lockdown band" they have brought out their first single "Modern Day Illusion" which won them a top 5 spot on France The Planet's Southern African Metal Madness Week on BurgStudio. This was closely followed by taking the Battle of the Bands Title with The Metal Lab in the UK. Their debut EP "Modern Day Illusion" was released to critical acclaim on 23 October 2020
