GOLGATA – TEMPEL ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Swedish Black Metal band Golgata’s second album, out on November 30th.
The album starts with a really good title track that reminds of purely classic Swedish Black Metal, but as the album continues, there’s a sonic shifting into a more atmospheric concept.
There is a constant reminder of Dungeon Synth on some intros, some Viking Metal like early Kampfar on songs like “Manspegel” or “Du Stod Vid Min Grav” and finally some hints of progressivity on the last songs that sounds a bit like modern Enslaved, but much darker and faithful to Black Metal. The album really sounds like if it was from the 90s, even if has some distant hint of modernity. With some really good drums, deep complexity based on simplicity and great vocals, this album may be enjoyable by classic and modern fans of the genre, especially by anyone who enjoys Swedish Black Metal.

I recommend this to fans of classic Swedish Black Metal, Viking Metal, Atmospheric Black Metal, Ambient Black Metal and Progressive Black Metal. My rating is of 9/10.

Injector - Hunt of the Rawhead (Art Gates Records Release: 18 December 2020)

Injector was born in 2012, founded by Dani MVN and J. A. Ayala in Cartagena (Spain). A few months later Dany B and Alberto Dannaya (drums) would join the band. The first opus of the band comes out in 2013, receiving the title of “Harmony of Chaos”. In 2015 Injector signs with the record label Art Gates Records and releases its debut album “Black Genesis”. After that, their album “Stone Prevails” is released in 2018, achieving a successful album and forging a loyal group of followers. The sound of the band is the result of a blend of the most aggressive Thrash Metal combined with the most classic elements of Heavy Metal. Now they're ready for their ultimate project “Hunt of the Rawhead”, the album that they've been perfectionating to the point that the band describes the sound of their new album as how they have always wanted to sound like. “Hunt of the Rawhead” will be released worldwide December 18, 2020 through Art Gates Records.

HEWOLF New Video For “Go All the Way” Looks In The Eyes Of Danger

Almost a month has passed since the release of the album Iron Survivor 2: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack EP and the US heavy sleaze-metal outfit HEWOLF gives to the masses a brand-new video for the track Go All The Way: https://youtu.be/QfnhNJNTe1w

The song is about our penchant for risk that is within many of us. It is a road full of dangers (in the video represented by a forest in flames) but which we decide to take to feed the inner thrill of the challenge against the unknown. The vocalist and bassist Paul Burnette commented:

“The video for Go All the Way is about the fierce struggle to perform and survive in the eyes of danger. It's about inner focus, passion, and the delicate balance of one's confidence that teeters within. Mental ammunition is key when arduous avenues splay beneath your feet. Many people never face life-affecting challenges, but most that do are those who seek them. Some cannot live without the unrest. There is a fire within that pulls towards danger. For some the only way to extinguish this fire is in death.”
