After great reception from new fans for their 2020 record "Foundations", Calgary, Canada’s Osyron will be reintroducing the past to the present with the re-release of their 2017 album "Kingsbane" in a Deluxe Edition on May 14th.

The Deluxe Edition of "Kingsbane" will feature all original tracks from the 2017 full-length remixed and remastered (original recordings were with former drummer Trevor Cobb). There will also be three rewritten and rearranged bonus tracks for Viper Queen, Griefmaker, and Razor's Wind (Acoustic) with current drummer Cody Anstey. The original recordings of the bonus tracks were written by guitarists Krzysztof Stalmach and Bobby Harley, but for the Deluxe Edition were collaborated by the whole band. The Deluxe Edition of "Kingsbane" was also entirely re-mixed by bassist Tyler Corbett and re-mastered by drummer Cody Anstey.

In lead up to "Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition", the band is sharing the music video for the remixed, remastered, and rewritten single "Viper Queen". The video injects fans with venomous speed and a power punch of melodic heavy metal.

"Viper Queen" can be watched via YouTube - https://youtu.be/S6aSsrCdfmU

The band adds about the track:

“Viper Queen'' had actually always felt like the “odd one” out on the album, especially stylistically. All of the other songs have sections that repeat from song to song, or motifs that reprise, and all the other songs have a section that acts as a part of the intro piece  (From Ashes). Viper Queen never really fell into that same groove and was never considered as a single on the first release of Kingsbane. However, it immediately did well live. People absolutely loved the song, and even we felt that especially live it captured a certain energy that was maybe missed from the recorded performance. We’ve even received comments from people about how they didn’t really get Viper Queen until they came to a show and watched it happen live, so to that end we wanted to really nail it for the re-release. We re-arranged it to trim some of what we considered the fat, and we sped up the tempo to more accurately translate some of that “live” intensity we felt it was missing!"

For "Kingsbane", Osyron dives into a story of a hero who must reluctantly take up arms against a tyrant king in a neighbouring land. Along the way, he faces many inward, and outward challenges he must overcome to achieve his goal. Through it all, the hero learns a valuable lesson that even though they are duty-bound to stop this great evil, this great evil is also in the eye of the beholder. They discover that the weight of absolute power has the potential to corrupt absolutely - maybe not all villains are as one-dimensional as they seem from the outset.

With powerful songwriting and progressive symphonic melodies, fans of Nightwish, Dream Theater, and Wintersun can enjoy Osyron's "Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition" when it's released on May 14th, 2021.

"From acoustic to symphonic, each song has plenty of twists and turns with potent vocals and compelling arrangements that showcase Osyron’s instrumental prowess." - Heavy Music Headquarters (Foundations 2020)

"Foundations is an impressive, very likeable album that will no doubt strongly appeal to a diverse range of metalheads, from fans of European power metal, to prog metallers, to fans of more modern metal. Given the strong quality of this EP, I very much look forward to their next full-length album, which could really establish Osyron as a new, fresh force in the international metal scene." - Metal Observer (Foundations 2020)

"Foundations puts the band front and center for another Canadian breakthrough to a worldwide audience. Osyron succeed in creating a musically catchy effort that also contains some interesting twists and killer interplay when necessary – and should be a band to keep tabs on." - Dead Rhetoric (Foundations 2020)

"Seriously, it had been a long time since I had been blown away by a progressive metal release and this one does not disappoint. The production is on point and every song has its place on this EP to demonstrate what these guys are capable of. If you are looking for something different and fresh in a genre that has been known to stagnate, give this EP a nice long listen." - Metal Temple (Foundations 2020)

"Foundations is genuinely unlike anything I’ve heard before and it’s had me going back for multiple listens precisely for this reason. The musicianship and songwriting are of high quality, but it’s the production that really sells it." - Moshville (Foundations 2020)

Rockshots Records: Prog Power ILLUSORY Shares "All Blood Red" Off Upcoming Album "Crimson Wreath"

Set to release their third full-length “Crimson Wreath” on May 21, 2021 via Rockshots Records, Greece's prog power Illusory are sharing the record's third single “All Blood Red”.

"All Blood Red is a melodic song with strong lyrics and a ‘Maidenish’ essence in the middle part. It is the only song off the album that we have performed in previous gigs, in raw editions every time. The reaction of the fans was astonishing, even though they have never heard it before. We share the same blood. All people share the same blood, regardless of skin color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, economic status, financial comfort, personal beliefs. We sing about it, we speak about it, we act about it. After all, “when all is gone, all blood is red”!" adds the band.

“All Blood Red can be heard at the following links:
YouTube (lyric video): https://youtu.be/3Amq-A7CHOQ

Having opened for such legendary acts Blue Oyster Cult, Warrel Dane, Geoff Tate, and Gus G, Illusory's new album “Crimson Wreath” is the next step in their widely praised evolution to follow 2016's Polysllabic (7hard/7us) and 2013's "The Ivory Tower" (The Leaders Records).

Melodic, riffy, cerebral, and complex “Crimson Wreath” is a very emotional and melodic release, yet heavy and strong at the same time. Both new fans and ones who have been listening to the band for years will indulge themselves in this latest offering of classic, progressive, epic, and thrashy performances. Lyrical themes found on “Crimson Wreath” are mostly anti-war, but the full length also includes a thematic unit consisting of three songs that deal with human loss.

The band comments:

“Crimson Wreath” has a very warm and solid sound and we feel very proud of the production we have done for it. It is an album that we recorded during one of the toughest times of our lives. We self-produced it with Yiannis and Dee doing an exceptional job mixing and mastering the tracks. It just sounds humongous! We feel we truly captured what we wanted to achieve in C.W."

For fans of Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Savatage, Jag Panzer, Illusory's “Crimson Wreath” is available for pre-order at the following link: http://bit.ly/CrimsonWreathCD

AMETHYST - Straight To Hell - (Progressive Gothic Metal)

FFO: Lacuna Coil, Epica, Evanescence

The band begun in 2015 and was founded by Geo Leiton and Elias Vega. Lead singer Fabi Salas joined in 2016 giving the band its very own sound. That same year, Kendal Rodriguez accepted to join the band too and gave his work with stunning arrangements on every song.

The band’s name reflects the music they create. The amethyst stone is a precious gem and one of the most appreciated varieties of quartz, and one of the hardest minerals ever. It has been used in jewelry since ancient times by Egyptian royalties, in magic rites from the middle ages and in modern times as a healing stone. Therefore, Amethyst’s music reflects these characteristics in every song, mysticism and beauty, combined with a hard and heavy musical art.

The band had performed internationally in Colombia at Metal Injection Fest 2019 and Nicaragua at Teatro Nacional Rubén Darío beginning in 2020. In Costa Rica the band played opening for swiss folk metal band Cellar Darling at The Grinch and at COSVIC in 2019.

Corehum revives the 70s heavy metal and rock with touches of contemporaneity in the release of “Let me see”

Corehum brings with it all the viscerality of the 1960s and 1970s to the present day.The band has just released the single entitled “Let me see” on all streaming platforms.
The band brings a differentiated panorama today with due and considerable sound power. Relive rock n roll, bring the 70's back with contemporary touches.

The lyrics of the track were inspired by the first love disappointment that Adelmo, vocalist, composer and one of the founders of the band had in his life for loving a girl who could not love him,
because she liked girls and for being transgender. The song is called “Let me see” for two reasons, one because the musician dreamed of being able to see her as his beloved and because it is a legal and subjective name.

Despite the considerable time of existence, the band came into force about a year ago, debuting a fully authorial set. Before that, while immersing themselves in solid compositions, they enjoyed tributes to classic references, from Beatles to Black Sabbath.

Corehum has incredible versatility in performing jams, with extremely purist rock n roll improvisations, and virtuous variations that refer to jazz and classical music.

Adelmo Henrique's vocals bring the debauched dirt of seventies rock, a mix of the density of Ozzy Osbourne with powerful trebles by Ian Gillan. Marcus Aliano viscerally brings the iconic instrument of the genre, the guitar. The treble bends proclaimed by a Gibson SG bring the revival of a legacy built over 40 years ago. Leandro Carvalho (bass) and Ewerton Gonçalves (drums), complete the band and it is firm and gradual, combining elements of weight and class from the kitchens of heavy metal and traditional rock.

At the moment, the band has been working on the production and recording of their first studio album, which features a vigorous set with high references.

-artist quote:

This song is a reflection of how things take seat in our lives uninvitedly and change our fate forever. Especially during these times of incredible adversity we hope to give a voice to the feelings those situations elicit while they oftentimes leave us speechless.

Jaani: „At a pretty early stage in the writing process I started feeling that You Open Up The Earth had to be the opening single of the album. Not only made the message of the song sense considering the state the world has been in for more than a year now, but it also seemed like a good introduction to the record: Combining heavy, dark and melodic elements with a little piece of our unearthly atmosphere and a big chorus.

-biography:

Jaani Peuhu, producer, songwriter and musician from #Helsinki, #Finland, is the creator of darkwave electronic band "Iconcrash“, which debuted their first album "Nude" in 2005, followed by two more albums. In 2015 Jaani set out on his solo project and released his first album, “Tear Catcher”. Jaani joined Swallow the Sun while producing their (2019) album "When A Shadow Is Forced Into The Light“, which reached the Finnish album charts at #1.

Jaani also topped the album charts with writing and producing for German dark rock band Lord of the Lost's 2018 album "Thornstar" and was nominated for the Finnish grammy award "Emma“ for Hallatar's debut album "No Stars Upon The Bridge“ (2018), which he also produced and mixed, along with playing bass live in the band.

Jaani has also worked with various multiplatinum-selling Finnish pop artists and metal acts like Before The Dawn, Diamond Black, Thunderstone and To/Die/For.

Although Jaani wanted to focus on his career as a producer, touring with Hallatar and Swallow the Sun made him want to tour with his own music again. He had the unique idea to create the genre of “new doom”. From that, Mercury Circle was born. This is a new direction of dark metal infused with powerful synth/electro waves and doom. He’s finally returning to vocals to bring you something purely enigmatic.
