CEREMONIAL WORSHIP and OMENFILTH to release new split album via ETERNAL DEATH, reveal first tracks

Today, Eternal Death sets August 6th as the international release date for The Pact of Morbid Conspiracy, a special split tape between Ceremonial Worship and Omenfilth. Aptly titled, this split album brings together two hordes who reverentially kneel at the altar of ancient Hellenic black metal.

Hailing from Hellas itself, Ceremonial Worship are up first with four exclusive tracks of stately mysticism and lurking dread. The singular creation of one High Priest C.W., Ceremonial Worship is the ultimate expression of his individual inner-darkness, so far manifesting in two EPs. Here, a studied & nuanced primitivism is explored, revealing a depth of texture within its thick pulsing walls of dread and doom. Simple but by no means simplistic, Ceremonial Worship create black metal that's undeniably early '90s Greek - and straight from the source!

Hailing from the Philippines, Omenfilth also deliver four exclusive tracks to this release. For nearly a decade, the quartet have been unsung pillars of authentically ancient Hellenic black metal. Although the geography's far removed, the passion and power are certainly as convincing as it comes, if Omenfilth's three albums and now-five splits are anything to go by. By comparison, one could say that Ceremonial Worship here approximate early Varathron while Omenfilth synthesize more open elements of death metal and thrash, arriving at a sound favorably not unlike old Thou Art Lord. Likewise, the Filipino cult create epic visions with more pronounced melodies and dynamics - always dark, of course!

For those who lament the death of the old Greek black metal sound and are looking for new standard-bearers who speak the lexicon rather than try to change it, The Pact of Morbid Conspiracy is one you must undertake!

Begin undertaking that Pact with two new tracks, Ceremonial Worship's "Into Dungeons of Mysticism" and Omenfilth's "Conjurers of the Pestilential Storms," HERE at Eternal Death's Bandcamp, where the album can also be preordered. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Slay At Home, the first of its kind virtual music festival organized by Frank Godla of Metal Injection, is celebrating its one year anniversary with the announcement of a grand finale. The fully stacked event will air this Friday and Saturday (June 18 & 19th) with music beginning at 12PM PST//3PM EST both days and panel discussions beforehand. Info on these four charities can be found at the Slay At Home Festival website here.

Following the success of the first Slay At Home festival in the early stages of the pandemic, it was soon launched into a monthly series that has now collectively received millions of views, and over $200,000 in donations to various charities throughout the year.

Godla comments on the finale: "I started Slay At Home early in the pandemic to create an Entertainment fundraiser that would aid the music industry and charities I'm passionate about, while providing a fun new experience for metal fans around the globe. As the world prepares for a post-quarantine comeback, with more live shows announced each week, I have made the decision to send off Slay At Home as it began a year ago, with a mammoth variety show filled with lots of surprises, for an even greater set of causes. I invite everyone in the world to safely get together and watch as we celebrate music in its purest form. It's an honor all around to work on this with so many incredible players who went above and beyond to create a truly unique experience."

Unlike previous iterations of the Slay At Home fest, this one will also include in-depth discussion panels before the show as part of the side program. Each discussion promises to be an engaging experience for the viewers with special guests they'll want to tune in early to see including Matt Heafy (Trivium), Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil) and Finn McKenty (YouTuber). AZIOLA CRY: Metal Injection Premieres “...Where Once Bore Wings” Video From Chicago Progressive Instrumental Metal Trio; The Ironic Divide Out Now Through Sensory Records

Watch AZIOLA CRY’s “...Where Once Bore Wings” HERE.

Metal Injection is hosting a worldwide exclusive video premiere for Chicago-based progressive instrumental metal trio AZIOLA CRY. The intriguing new visual accompaniment was created for the track “...Where Once Bore Wings,” found on the band’s third album, The Ironic Divide, which was released in March through Sensory Records.

With Mike Milaniak on guitar, Jason Blake on Warr guitar, and Tommy Murray on drums, AZIOLA CRY formed in 2004. The band released their debut album, Ellipsis, in 2005, followed by Ghost Conversations in 2007. Along the way, the band performed live alongside Behold… The Arctopus, Don Caballero, Tiles, Far Corner, and many others, while appearing at progressive rock festivals including M.A.R.S. Fest. In 2007, the band went dormant, and remained that way for nearly fourteen years, reforming two years ago and beginning work on what would be their third record, The Ironic Divide.

The Ironic Divide delivers AZIOLA CRY’s heaviest and most intricate work yet, boasting forty-eight minutes of material through four massive tracks. The songs tell the story of one person’s final descent. There are two types of people in this world: there are those who do good for others and make a positive contribution to society in some way, and there are those who do evil and hurt fellow humans, with no rationale behind their behavior. They are cowards. This is their story.

The Ironic Divide was recorded by Jim Siwek at Ultralownoise Studio and Transient Sound, mixed by Steven Gillis at Transient Sound, mastered by Ted Jansen at Sterling Sound (Alice In Chains, Lamb Of God, Gijora), and completed with artwork and design by Micka Klauck.

With the new video for “...Where Once Bore Wings,” Blake offers, “This song shows the true metal side of the band. I wanted it to sound like a wall of sound from beginning to end. The video was filmed to represent the internal struggle between good and evil. I wanted an ending song that was heavy and, as with past albums, alluded to what was to come next from the band. For the video, I once again asked Jeremy Bessoff to create the visuals for the music based on Micka Klauck's original artwork. For the band portion, we worked with videographer Chuck Deters to produce the cramped feeling of being inside the character's head. The red and blue footage represents the struggle inside of his mind."

Metal Injection writes, “AZIOLA CRY is here to trip you out both visually and aurally today with their twisting, turning new single ‘…Where Once Bore Wings.’”
