Mütherload Release New Single “Iniquity” Off Upcoming EP “Ü” Out July 9th

A provocative blend of thrash, groove and death metal, Mütherload from London, Canada has a new single “Iniquity” out supporting the release of their debut EP “Ü”. While this is the first release from the band under this name, four of five members worked together previously in Heaven Ablaze.

They still keep a bit of the thrash riffs they were known for previously, but over the years they’ve put more focus into the groove, songwriting, and feel. Not every song has a guitar solo in it, and not every riff has a lead over it. This shouldn’t dissuade long time fans though, as the band explains:

“So far, the few people who have heard the EP seem to love it, so hopefully we maintain that reaction with everyone else who hears it. We feel we captured our live energy in the studio quite well, and it’s that energy that our fans love the most about us.”

When asked about lyrical themes, the band is sparse on details, instead of encouraging listeners to read the lyrics and decide for themselves how the words fall out and work with the music.

Mütherload works collectively, with the majority of the melodies and riffs being concocted by guitarists Patrick Davison and Derek Haley. After they set the foundation, the rest of the music just flows. Most of Mütherload’s music starts off on the acoustic guitar. Stripping the music down to its most humble form allows them to add what is needed instead of fighting to take away what has been set in stone so to speak. You can always add salt, but you can’t take it out later.

A sonic smorgasbord of all things heavy, Mütherload is recommended for fans of In Flames, Mastodon, Lamb of God and Opeth.

The single “Iniquity” can be heard via its premiere on TheCirclePit's YouTube channel - https://youtu.be/mNY_MdMLzgs
The full EP “Ü” is out July 9, 2021.

HEXORCIST premiere new track at NoCleanSinging.com - features members of GNOSIS, DEVASTATOR

Today, Floridian ancient-death dealers Hexorcist premiere the new track "Denouncing the Immaculate" at heavily trafficked web-portal NoCleanSinging.com. The track is the second to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Evil Reaping Death, set for international release on July 26th via Memento Mori (CD) and Godz ov War (cassette); the vinyl version from Unholy Prophecies will follow a bit later. Hear Hexorcist's "Denouncing the Immaculate" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Unearthed in Florida in early 2019 and comprised of past and current members of other impious hordes such as Gnosis and Devastator, Hexorcist summon old-school and blasphemous death metal that may as well fall under the "proto-death metal" category, for their ferocious and relentless approach to the genre harkens back to the mid-to-late '80s, when all things extreme were still boiling in the same malignant cauldron and all boundaries were nothing but a blur that no diehard dweller of the underground gave a damn about. Hexorcist's aural and lyrical offering is uncompromising and exudes utter vileness, leaving no room for absolutely anything that could remotely be considered modern or trendy.

And Hexorcist accomplish precisely that on their scathing debut album, Evil Reaping Death. Ridiculously accurate in its title, Evil Reaping Death is exactly EVIL REAPING DEATH: steeped in the ancients, billowing sulfur, divebomb leads flying right and left, and the unhinged yet locked-in execution that can only come from true and total DIEHARDS. Not everything goes in death metal, and Hexorcist keep a closed mind when it comes to the Metal of Death. For them, the archaic ways of Morbid Angel, Necrovore, Sarcofago, Death, Incubus, Possessed, Vital Remains, Slayer, and Peru's Mortem do not need to be messed with, only upheld, and uphold Hexorcist do here. No more but definitely no less, Evil Reaping Death is 666% maniacal death metal for death metal maniacs - exclusively!

With utterly ripping mastering courtesy of Loïc Fontaine at Krucyator Studio, France and classically evil cover art courtesy of Art Militia, Hexorcist soundly erase 30 years of "progression" with Evil Reaping Death. Expel the flesh! Revere the sacrificial rites!

Continue expelling the flesh and revering the sacrificial rites with the brand-new track "Denouncing the Immaculate" exclusively HERE, courtesy of NoCleanSinging.com. Begin expelling the flesh and revering the sacrificial rites with the previously revealed "Exulting the Adversary" HERE at Memento Mori's official YouTube channel. Aforementioned cover art and tracklisting are as follows:

This Friday, Minneapolis-based hardcore/grindcore outfit WANDERER will unleash their damaging debut LP, Liberation From A Brutalist Existence. With its release just days away, Echoes And Dust is hosting an exclusive stream of the entire album, paired with an interrogation of the band.

Formed in late 2013, WANDERER deploys a caustic blend of d-beat-inspired hardcore/grind, drawing influences from bands like Converge, Cursed, The Chariot, Trap Them, Baptists, and Yautja, among others, the band creates a maelstrom of heavy, agile, and uncompromising metal/hardcore. Having toured the US in support of their previous four EPs including 2016's Gloom Daze, released by Tilde Records, as well as having opened for bands such as The Body, Birds In Row, and Power Trip, WANDERER released five new songs in the form of an EP, Abandoned, in 2018. After more touring throughout the US and playing shows with Vein, Full Of Hell, Harvest, and more, as well as a Midwest run with Closet Witch, the band entered the studio in August of 2019 to record their debut full-length album with new vocalist Dan Lee.

WANDERER is extremely excited to finally release a record that saw many delays due to the global pandemic. Delivering ten caustic tracks in just over twenty-three minutes, the lyrics discuss topics such as escapism, suicide, self-reflection, the concept of beauty, and existential trauma.

Liberation From A Brutalist Existence was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Adam Tucker at Signaturetone Recording (Sunless, Blue Ox, Void Omnia) with additional vocal tracking by Jeff Nicholas. The front cover artwork was created by Azeta Azadpour and the back cover art by Caleb Butcher, and the layout/design was handled by Morgan Carpenter. The record also features guest vocals from Sanjeev Mishra on "Marionette," Mollie Piatetsky on "Simone," and former vocalist Brandon Carrigan on "Contented," as well as producer Adam Tucker providing auxiliary percussion on "Simone."

As part of their in-depth feature with the band, Echoes And Dust writes, “With their new album Liberation From A Brutalist Existence, Minneapolis band WANDERER meld together grindcore and hardcore with plenty of D-beat grit to create a caustic aural assault that is as exhilarating as it is venomous.”

Tune in to Echoes And Dust to stream WANDERER’s Liberation From A Brutalist Existence in its entirety early at THIS LOCATION.

Liberation From A Brutalist Existence will see release on June 18th on LP through Entelodon Records, on cassette via Bad Mouth Recordings, and digitally through the band. Find preorders HERE and see the previously issued videos for “Marionette” HERE and “Contented” HERE.

Watch for additional news, videos, and more from WANDERER to post in the weeks ahead.

TRIALOGOS: The Sleeping Shaman Streams Entire Stroh Zu Gold Debut LP; Album Sees Release Friday As 100th Release For Exile On Mainstream

Stream TRIALOGOS’ Stroh Zu Gold HERE.

The Sleeping Shaman is hosting an exclusive stream of TRIALOGOS’ debut LP Stroh Zu Gold, ahead of the album’s release this Friday, the landmark 100th release for German label Exile On Mainstream.

TRIALOGOS – uniting Conny Ochs, Sicker Man, and Kiki Bohemia – is an experimental/cinematic rock collective, formed during the dark early months of the Covid pandemic. Stroh Zu Gold was recorded at blankstudio Berlin in October 2020, produced by Tobias Vethake and TRIALOGOS, with additional recordings by Conny Ochs. The album was mastered by Andreas "Lupo" Lubich and completed with artwork by the band members, primarily Ochs.

The Sleeping Shaman writes, “Have we got a treat instore for you as those who caught the TRIALOGOS performance over the Roadburn Redux weekend will know exactly what we mean. Featuring three inspirational musicians in the form of Conny Ochs, Kiki Bohemia, and Sicker Man, today it’s an honor to bring you the entire forty minutes of their debut Stroh Zu Gold, that also marks Exile On Mainstream‘s 100th release, and to quote Martin in his recent review, where he said it, ‘offers up a wide variety of sounds, moods and textures,’ he’s certainly on point with that analogy.”

With the release of the album looming, Ochs writes, “‛Stroh Zu Gold’ is both an image and a quote from a famous and quite mystical German fairy tale by the name of Rumpelstilzchen. It embodies various rich imagery, one of them being a scene where a quite improbable task, turning straw into gold, needs to be accomplished. In fact, it is achieved through witchery. The strange and adventurous way in which we recorded the album made that image pop up in the process, and it stuck. It feels to me we had witchery on our side too. We just threw ourselves into this, without any recipe, not knowing at all what we would be cooked up to. I am very thankful for having the chance to work with Kiki and Sicker Man, and for that treasure of freedom in the unknown. I hope we can transmit this through the album, and that we have the chance to bring it to a stage soon.”

Exile On Mainstream founder and owner Andreas Kohl offers, “One-hundred releases, twenty-two years! Pinch me! Who would have thought we will make it this far? When Dischord made it to 100 in 1997 I hadn’t even started but couldn’t believe that you can keep the spirit for that long and still remain relevant and true to yourself. Truth be told, I had wanted to put it to rest a few times, but it was the artists themselves who wouldn’t let me, and in particular one Conny Ochs, who kept on telling me I can’t. So, this goes out to the artists on this label more than to anything or anyone else – they are the ones who got us this far. It’s all for them and because of them. And that’s why TRIALOGOS is so perfectly closing the circle because it perfectly illustrates what this is all about: the friendship, the family, the ‘anything goes’ and no limits approach. Wait a second, false modesty here, I’m the greatest! I put out 100 records. Eat that!”

Stream TRIALOGOS’ entire Stroh Zu Gold LP now through The Sleeping Shaman at THIS LOCATION.

Stroh Zu Gold sees release this Friday, June 18th, digitally and in a four-panel mini-gatefold CD, 180-gram pure virgin black vinyl LP including a download card, available through the Exile On Mainstream webshop HERE.

Following Tony Conrad’s concept of maximalism in minimal music, TRIALOGOS’ widescreen Super 8 soundscapes and occasional haunted house vocals conjure up visions of Winter lost beaches, bats dancing upside down, and sojourns in permanent dawn. What we hear in these “trialogues” is one word sounding through the other. Like in a doubly exposed photograph, the individual elements become both more ethereal and more defined. They touch and blend, align and dissociate at the same time and take on the remarkable capacity of ghosts: the ability to inhabit one another, one voice speaking through the other.

In response to the altered living and working conditions during the pandemic, Sicker Man and Kiki had started a daily series of livestream concerts called Cleansing Drones For Locked Down Homes in March 2020, designed as an experimental musical ritual to comfort and express emotional and artistic turmoil during a state of emergency. When Conny Ochs joined in as a guest in the Autumn of 2020, they expanded the technique of those “dialogues” to include the voice of a “third,” taking collective soul searching and notion of self-transcendence to a further stage. Locked up in their studio in Berlin, seeking solitude and introspection, the trio recorded Stroh Zu Gold within just three days, gaining new artistic vision and transvaluation from this almost eremitic kind of lifestyle.
