Dragons Kiss' debut album "Barbarians of the Wasteland" was released in 2014 via Killer Metal Records. Now, Portuguese label Firecum Records add a new update to this release and, on July 26th, "Killer Metal Records" will be released in LP format.

Influenced by classic Heavy Metal and US Speed Metal from the '80s with apocalyptic lyrics.

The band already shared the stage with Night Demon (U.S.A.), Entombed AD (Sweden), Bob Wayne (U.S.A.)...

In October the band will be released a new EP "The Last Survivors"

To celebrate her 76th birthday on July 26, 2021; APE SHIFTER are digitally releasing their new track "Betty Davis." Inspired by the legend herself, APE SHIFTER enlisted D.C. go-go, rock, and funk drummer (and ex-Sorry About Your Daughter drummer!) Tony Mcghee to lay down the groove on this single celebrating the Queen of Funk while Ape Shifter drummer Kurty Münch took a sabbatical for the year. "Ever since first hearing Betty Davis´s album Nasty Gal, I´ve wanted to write a track that digs into the nitty-gritty depths of the funk and rock fusion," says guitarist Jeff Aug about the track. Ape Shifter has been ripping it up in Europe over the last 5 years playing festivals, headline shows, and as support for acts such as Loudness, The Skull, Chris Slade Timeline, and Chris Haskett (Rollins Band). Ape Shifter was formed in 2015 by Sorry About Your Daughter guitarist Jeff Aug, a cool underground guitarist who has been living at the foothills of the Alps in Southern Germany for the last 20+ years. Born in D.C. and raised in Laurel, Maryland, Aug has toured with Allan Holdsworth, Soft Machine, Stu Hamm, Greg Howe, Alex Skolnick, Carl Verheyen, Johnny A., Albert Lee, and has performed shows with Jawbox, Shudder To Think, and Ice-T & Bodycount with his old band Sorry About Your Daughter. He's worked with John Stabb from Government Issue, has been touring and recording with Anne Clark for the last 18+ years, and has been touring and releasing albums as a solo guitarist for the last 30+ years. SON OF A SHOTGUN – BE FOR OSS ALLE by Varg The Mighty

Today’s review is of Norwegian Southern Death Grind band Son Of A Shotgun’s upcoming new album, out on September 11^th.

This band has crafted a really curious and unique sound. Mixing aggressive Death Grind in the likes of Putrid Offal with a powerful voice that reminds of English Punk (especially The Exploited or Extreme Noise Terror, influences also apparent in the music) seems like a great idea, although it may perhaps be almost normal. To amend this, they also implement elements of Country and Southern Rock, sort of like Dezperadoz do, but with a Death Grind, breakdown-filled, approach instead.

Surprisingly, the result is pretty good, somewhat as if Creedence Clearwater Revival met Brujeria. As the album progresses, some Industrial Metal grooves also start to appear, reminding of Fear Factory. Although all these comparisons may seem absurd, there’s no better way to describe this band, and what they do is well composed. My personal highlights are “Caught On Guard” and “War Inside”.

I recommend this album to fans of Death Grind, Grindcore, Industrial Metal and Southern Rock inspired Extreme Metal. My rating is of 9/10.

Sunday already ... and finally this disastrous week for the Rock / Blues / Metal world ends.
This fateful week, the drummer and founder of Slipknot, Joey Jordison died while he was sleeping at the age of 45, he suffered from Transverse Myelitis, a quite serious inflammation of the spinal cord and that is possibly the reason, although the causes of his death are not yet clarified.

The mythical bassist and singer of the ZZ Top Dusty Hill at the age of 72, also while he was sleeping and the causes of his death are still unknown to this day.

And the frontman vocalist of Metal Church, Mike Howe at the age of 56, in this the sheriff's office of his locality in California is investigating his death by possible suicide by hanging, something that is left to be seen in the strange statement that gave the band after his death and here I publish the "mysterious" paragraph of said statement.

Three piece of musicians who leave a BIG void in Rock and its more specific aspects Nu Metal, Blues / Rock and Thrash n 'Heavy.

The album is set for release next week through Nefarious Industries, who today offers the new track, “Dredging Futility.”   DYLAN DILELLA has realized a singular voice as a solo guitarist and improviser. While his previous solo guitar works were distinctive and provocative, Human Shield sees his style taken to a new level of exuberance. Sitting midway between harsh noise, free jazz, drone, shoegaze, and metal, DILELLA's boundless appreciation for the grotesque, whimsical, and bizarre is thoroughly apparent throughout the album.   With three intense songs spanning more than forty-two minutes, Human Shield features only DYLAN DILELLA performing on guitar, with no further instrumentation or contributions. Recorded by the artist in the sweltering NYC August 2020 pandemic lockdown, Human Shield was mastered by Richard Chowenhill and completed with artwork by DILELLA and layout by Greg Meisenberg.   “When people ask about my influences for Human Shield, I’d say that first and foremost these are sounds that I hear in my head when I’m in a musical mode, DILELLA offers. “Also, the album was conceived of and recorded very quickly - I didn’t really have time to think about influences.
