HORN PROJECT “Illusions Of Maya” (Black Metal, 2021)

 

HORN PROJECT is a melodic black metal solo project started in 2018.  Horn Project lyrically deals with spiritual philosophical aspects and mythology.

 

After a 6 year guitar break and a 1000 km walk through Spain, nature gave Elmar Schölzhorn (project mastermind) back his creativity and led him to pick up the instrument again.

 

Starting out as a simple acoustic song for fun, Elmar has been offered by his friend Christian W. (Virial) to mix Elmar‘s future songs and doing drums programming. The HORN PROJECT started to reveal its path. After 3 years all the tracks were written and, when Elmar met Max Careri (Organic) in 2019, he found the fitting voice for the vision he had in mind. Everything fell in place. The album was recorded in early 2021 and mastered by Hannes Grossmann (Mordor Sound Studios).

 

HORN PROJECT´s lyrics combine spiritual and philosophical aspects, incorporating mythology and personal matters. The artwork was designed by Elmar Schölzhorn and implemented by Samuel Stelzer.

November release: ÜLTRA RAPTÖR - "Tyrants

Canadian Speed/Heavy Metal band ÜLTRA RAPTÖR, has just signed a contract with Fighter Records for the release of their debut album "Tyrants" which will be released on November 9th on CD, 12"LP, Cassette and Digital formats. 

ÜLTRA RAPTÖR were formed in late 2015 and already in 2017, they released their first EP "Ültra Raptör" in a self-produced way, receiving good acceptance from the underground Heavy Metal scene. In late 2020, the band began recording their debut album "Tyrants", which was finished in early summer 2021 and immediately led to their signing with Fighter Records.

The style of ÜLTRA RAPTÖR, is a fast and intense Speed/ Heavy Metal, with influences from bands like SAVAGE GRACE, early RUNNING WILD, JUDAS PRIEST, RAGE, EXCITER, early ANGEL DUST, SAVATAGE... where the songs stand out for their cool catchy riffs and melodies, with excellent guitar solos, a relentless rhythmic base and a dynamic vocalist, creating a set of the great potential that will give a lot to talk about.

For over fifteen years, New England’s When The Deadbolt Breaks has lurked in the dark corners of underground metal. With a doom style both psychedelic and unsettling, their music has been labeled many things -heavy, daunting, overwhelming, unnerving-  while the band is singer/guitarist Aaron Lewis’s gritty vision of life on the subcultural fringes of New England society. For more than a decade When The Deadbolt Breaks has carved a niche for themselves within the interplay of extreme genres. Having played the SXSW, New England Stoner & Doom Fest to name just a few, they are as well no less at home in grind than they are in pummeling sludge or ambient soundscaping, casting forth triumphant riffs or proffering murder-dirge nods at a volume level that can only be considered violent. When The Deadbolt Breaks have always struck a balance between the ugly and beauty: long compositions wade through detuned, discordant, and murky sludge before shifting into melodic ambient space rock territories, and back again. It’s not hard to see that cinema is often what informs Lewis’s songwriting: the grueling discomfort of E. Elias Merhige or surreality of David Lynch have provided as much inspiration as his musical influences.

“This album is a unique one for When The Deadbolt Breaks. We have pushed our boundaries sonically," Band mastermind Lewis reveals. "The heavy is heavier, and the mellow, spacial parts are even more so. Akin to our first few records, we have returned to more aggressive drumming, and psychedelic spaces, yet this record has a certain depth and maturity to it that was missing in the past."

Swiss kick-ass hard-rockers Rattlesnake released and streamed brand new EP 'The Sky is the Limit' on Digital exclusive through Bandcamp

"From AC/DC to Slash passing through Motörhead, Airbourne or Ted Nugent"   About two years after releasing their debut EP 'Rock You All' 28 years after the birth of the band, Swiss Hard-Rockers Rattlesnake (including member of Ed Banger and the Kardashits) officially released a second EP called 'The Sky is the limit' on Digital exclusive through Bandcamp and the main streaming services.  This brand new EP will also see the liight on physical edition in the coming weeks but in the meantime, it is available for full-streaming on Bandcamp..

....For the record...   The original Rattlesnake travelled the roads from 1990 to 1994, and in 2012 Dylan (Drums) aged 17, convinced his father Raph, the original singer of the band, to revive the band and fly the flag of their motto : Kick Ass Rock’N’Roll. From gig to gig the snake has gained in assurance and attracted new recruits into its fangs, Basti (bass) and Indy (guitar).   Mixing original tracks from Rattlesnake era 1 and 2 with covers from bands such as Black Sabbath, ZZ Top, Angel City or the Starfighters, the band gained attention and followers thanks to their energetic live performances sweating Rock’N’Roll from every pore.   The Bass player and the band went separate ways after the recording was completed for time management reasons, and he was replaced by a well-known bass player from the local Swiss and International scene, Bourreau (the henchman) also know as Bison by his friends (ex-Apocalypse and current bass player for Cosmosonic).   The time came to put all of this energy onto a CD and in September 2018 the band locked themselves into the Geneva Downtone studio with Thomas ‘Drop’ Betrisey (guitar player for Samael) to lay down the tracks for their new EP : 'Rock You All'. The EP contains 5 tracks and with an introduction by long-time friend Ruyter Suys (Guitar player for Nashville Pussy), the EP delivers the goods with a powerful mixture of vintage tastes and modern sounds.   On Summer 2021, the band releases a second record, an another EP called 'The Sky is the limit'. 31 years after the birth of the band, the story continues.   For fans of AC/DC, Airbourne, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Slash...
