Medicine for a Nightmare: Part Two (Book & Instrumental Audio Compilation) available for pre-order

Medicine for a Nightmare: Part Two is a collection of thoughts and expressions to be part of a larger conversation. It contains essays, poetry, short stories, photography, and other visual art from a unique selection of many characters from many walks of life, age groups, and cultural backgrounds. It's presented in a perfect-bound paperback book that comes with a 90-minute audio companion cassette featuring exclusive instrumental music from 17 different artists. The core of this project is to embrace emotions and impermanence while asking the question “what brings one to see another day?”. The results aren’t what one may expect.

The publishing house Medicine for a Nightmare’s main intention is to create community by sharing ideas and experiences with mixed-media objects during an era of separation. It hopes to be a bridge and facilitate connection, as we scatter across space and time.

The Paperback Book & Audio Cassette/Digital Compilation comes on 22 October 2021; PRE-ORDER available on Bandcamp AT THIS LOCATION.

ROTHADÁS stream ME SACO UN OJO debut album at MetalBite.com - features members of CRYPTWORM

Today, Hungarian death metal cult Rothadás stream their highly anticipated debut album, Kopár hant... az alvilág felé, at heavily trafficked web-portal MetalBite.com. Set for international release on October 12th via Me Saco Un Ojo Records on vinyl LP format, hear Rothadás' Kopár hant... az alvilág felé in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Hailing from Hungary and proudly performing in their mother tongue, Rothadás made their public debut in 2019 with a self-titled demo tape for Me Saco Un Ojo. A two-song work totaling 16 minutes, Rothadás suggested - and strongly - that the selfsame band had a staunchly ancient-minded vision of death metal but by no means were blinkered by the past. Perhaps this unique dichotomy is down to Rothadás being a self-contained duo of vocalist/drummer Lambert Lédeczy and guitarist/bassist Tibor Hanyi - both men equally prolific veterans of the underground, and both concurrently playing in labelmates Cryptworm among others.

Now, at last do the duo unveil their debut album, Kopár hant... az alvilág felé. Here, Rothadás erect an eerily shimmering monument of slimy, oft-doomy DEATH METAL: for maniacs, by maniacs, young and old and everyone in between. Armed with an absolutely crushing production, the band's first full-length betrays an eternal wisdom by maximizing the basics as well as nodding to various eras and locales of death metal but only subtly - immersion rather than extraction, and addition by subtraction, tastefully so in both regards. As each of these five lumbering/lunging hulks of dread-inducing sound effortlessly morph into myriad shapes, each one as ghastly and grotesque as the last, it slowly begins to dawn on the listener than Kopár hant... az alvilág felé retains a runtime of 44 minutes: truly, an experience that is EPIC - as ever, tastefully and subtly so - rather "epic" in shameless overstatement. Further, Rothadás' native Hungarian helps lend another sublime layer of the unique to what is arguably the year's best dark-horse death metal recording...recognize or regret!

Fully recognize exclusively HERE, courtesy of MetalBite.com. Preorder info can be found HERE at Me Saco Uno Ojo's Bandcamp. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

SLOWBLEED: California Hardcore/Metal Band Signs With Creator-Destructor; “The Law (Atonement Through Blood)” Video Posted + New Album Due In Early 2022

Creator-Destructor Records announces the signing of Ventura County, California hardcore/metal quintet, SLOWBLEED.

SLOWBLEED is a band formed with a goal of achieving unrelenting extremity, bridging brutality and technicality within their blend of hardcore aggression and death metal precision. Born, bred, and raised on the bands of the Nardcore scene they grew up in, the Santa Paula-based band was started in 2017 by vocalist Jon Caytion, guitarist Logan Givan, and bassist Ozzy Parilla, later expanding with the addition of second guitarist John Laux and drummer Tyler Castro.

Following the release of their debut EP, Never Been Worse, in July 2019, in 2020 SLOWBLEED released the "Hung At Dawn" single, a promo EP, and their song “Trust” was included on Indecision Records’ Nardcore For Life compilation alongside Ill Repute, Stalag 13, False Confession, Dead Heat, In Control, Downpresser, and more.

Earlier this year, SLOWBLEED entered The Pit Recording Studio (Nails, Xibalba, God’s Hate) with Taylor Young at the helm and recorded their first full-length. Having caught the ear of California-based Creator-Destructor Records, the label immediately signed the band and is preparing the LP for release at the start of 2022.

With the news of the signing, SLOWBLEED unleashes the new song “The Law (Atonement Through Blood)” embodied in a vicious video directed by Alex Castro, the song also featuring a guest vocal appearance by Taylor Young.

Watch SLOWBLEED’s “The Law (Atonement Through Blood)” video now at THIS LOCATION.

VARNOK – ANTHROPOGENIC ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of American Thrash Metal band Varnok’s new EP.

This band delivers furious Thrash that lingers between classic Thrash, Death Thrash and even Hardcore. This new release is covered with civil unrest and anarchism in a similar way to Max Cavalera’s Go Ahead And Die, with the same level of violence displayed as a result. Topping all with a putrid vocal performance that at times may remind of Blizzard though striving slightly towards a more guttural range and a raw production, the EP may appeal to fans of anything extreme.

Despite the straightforward assault, the band also allow themselves some space for technique, and although this may not always get well attached to the music, at times it gives a nice sonority. Together with the notable bass presence, this surely gives their music some personal identity, which is surely always good. My personal highlights are “Anticop” and “The Deluge Of Fire”.

I recommend this album to fans of Thrash Metal. My rating is of 8/10.

TRASHCAN DANCE – BESO NEGRO ( Review By Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Finnish Punk Rock band Trashcan Dance’s new EP.

Combining a laidback kind of Punk Rock with a soothing and easy to listen Melodic Rock under a filthy Glam Rock aura, the band deliver here 6 tracks of fun rock.

Although the synth may be excessively present and occasionally drowns the other instruments, the feel-good melodies transmit a nice and accessible kind of sonority that sometimes even approaches Pop Punk while never forgetting the classic masters such as The Ramones. Topping it all with elements of pure and hard to describe Finnish Punk, the band has created some straightforward and satirical songs such as “Chemtrails” or “Revenge” here.

I recommend this album to fans of Pop Punk, Punk Rock, Melodic Rock and Glam Rock. My rating is of 8/10.
