On
Thursday August 5th, the West Coast Metal outfit known as EMISSARY
returned to the stage in Oregon after a quarter century of silence and
received what they called an overwhelming response when performing as
direct support for the first night of Hard Rock veterans TESLA 's 2021
tour (prior to the pandemic halting future tour plans.) From the classic
lineup, EMISSARY features frontman Jym Harris, drummer Eric Hoover,
guitarist Tim Dahlen and bassist Peter Shawn Kinney. New guitarist
Charlie Francipane ( TRICK, SURRENDER TO EDEN ) was recruited when Jon
Holden parted ways with the band to focus on his main project, AMERIKAN
FREAKSHOW earlier this year.
Harris,
Dahlen and Kinney then attended the RUSTED METAL book signing in
Portland, Oregon alongside members of HEIR APPARENT, GLACIER, Q5,
NIGHTSHADE, LIPSTICK and others two days after their debut reunion show.
EMISSARY can be found on page 122 of the Pacific Northwest's historical
guide to Hard Rock & Heavy Metal music. Less than two weeks later,
EMISSARY played an evening slot at California's REDWOOD METALFEST on
August 21st, alongside dozens of other acts such as LICH KING, BLIND
ILLUSION, SKITZO and MORDRED . The final show on the summer tour was in
Oregon, headlining S2S SUMMERFEST in Central Point the next day.
EMISSARY's
new studio debut titled " THE WRETCHED MASQUERADE " is planned for a
late 2021 release via UNDERGROUND POWER RECORDS . The band says a deluxe
2 disc version of the album has been discussed, and a vinyl edition
should drop sometime next year. The upcoming release features cover art
by Donald Yatomi, known for his work with MEGADETH and TOURNEQUET among
others. The band hopes to finish recording before sharing the stage with
UK Heavy Metal Legends RAVEN in Portland, Oregon on November 9th, 2021.
Check

new recordings plus original demo versions of the same songs. No
official release date is set for the full-length album, just sometime in
2021!

ROYAL HUNT DEBUT CD TURNS 30 YEARS – COLLECTORS EDITION IS DUE IN OCTOBER
The
re-mastered version of ROYAL HUNT’s debut album – ”Land Of Broken
Hearts” will be released on the 29th of October 2021 via NorthPoint
Productions. It includes an extended booklet with rare pictures, “the
making of” – story written by André Andersen and 5 bonus tracks. “Land
of Broken Hearts” has previously been reissued on vinyl (Night of the
Vinyl Dead) CD, and all digital platforms (NorthPoint Productions) in
2018.
Message from the band: “Dear friends,
We´ve
been totally overwhelmed by the amount of requests reg. “Land of Broken
Hearts” – re-issue of 2018 – which was then quickly sold out mostly at
the stage of pre-orders.
We
didn’t expect that much interest in our older albums – BUT – if that´s
the case – we might try to continue re-issuing those albums in the same
fashion: with extended booklets, bonus tracks and more inside info on
each release.
The re-run of “Land of Broken Hearts” is due in october 2021. If you missed your copy in 2018 – you can now reserve one here “.

Valar
Morghulis, hailing from Salisbury, NC is a metal band blended by five
guys who all love metal and have a broad range of influences. Combining
elements of thrash metal, death metal, black metal, groove metal and
doom metal, we strive to make music that fans of multiple sub-genres
would like.
We
started making music in the spring of 2019 and playing shows by fall
that year. We recorded our self-titled EP in January 2020 which was
released on 2/29/2020. Little did we know the COVID-19 was about to
change the music world as we know it. During this time of lockdowns,
limited gatherings, ups and downs, we continue writing new material an
will again head to the studio in early 2021 with Audio Helm Studios in
Charlotte, NC to record our next EP that will release Summer 2021.
Our
latest single Among the Ashes is available for streaming on almost all
streaming sources, and for purchase via digital download on Bandcamp and
CDBaby. We will be releasing more singles from the EP over the Fall of
2021. With shows opening back up, we are playing some live again, before
returning to work on some new materials we've been writing the past
year.

MARIO ROSSI - Heavy - (Brazilian Blues Rock)

Mario
Rossi is a Brazilian guitarist and singer based on São Bernardo do
Campo (São Paulo State/Brazil). He has been moving forward in music
since 2004, when he was 18 years old and made his live debut. Nowadays,
as a confident player, he treats riffs, licks and melodies with respect
and wisdom. He knows where he wants to go!
The
guitarist/singer started his journey improving his skills as a cover
artist. Classic songs like ‘Key to the Highway’ or Guitar Slim’s ‘The
Things That I Used to Do’ were some of the gems in his concerts. In
addition, he played Elmore James, B.B. King, Peter Green, Johnny Winter,
Eric Clapton, and also Ray Charles’s ‘Come Back Baby’ or Peter Green’s
‘Fallin’ Apart’. Mario Rossi had two unique experiences: in 2013 and
then 2015, he joined the band that accompanied the American bluesman
John Primer in Brazil. They played in cities in the South and Southeast
of the country, including a live performance on The Noite com Danilo
Gentili TV show, screened by the channel SBT – one of the biggest TV
channels in Brazil. The final balance of all of that brought a permanent
framework.
In
the USA, Mario Rossi toured in recent years. He jammed with NY Blues
Hall of Fame members, and played guitar live at the Red Lion Club
(Greenwich Village) with a bunch of good ones: David Bennett Cohen
(keyboards, Country Joe & The Fish), Arthur Nielson (guitar, Cyndi
Lauper/Shemekia Copeland), Sonny Hudson (harmonica), and Mike Muller
(bass, Albert King, Luther Allison, The Pretenders and The Ramones).
On
November 1st, 2019, the Brazilian guitarist and singer released the
first studio album of his own band, Mario Rossi Band. 'Electric Art' is a
nice Rock and Blues piece of work. It has 8 new original tracks, with a
beautiful vintage guitar tone. The album takes us to golden ages of
music (something that’s not seen too much nowadays).
Less
than one year later, on September 18th, 2020, Mario Rossi Band released
a new studio album, 'The Same Old Street'. It’s an intense 10-track
journey through Classic and Blues Rock. The songs are all original ones
and give us a good taste of his arsenal of riffs and licks inspired by
some of the great rockers from the 60’s and the 70’s. The record is a
natural step from 'Electric Art', and shows that definitely Brazil isn’t
only the Bossa Nova and Samba land.
In
2020, The Same Old Street album had several downloads in Europe and
North America, as well as a good repercussion in the media. Magazines
like Powerplay Magazine (UK) and Rock Hard (Italy) published great
reviews and ratings.
Some
of the songs of this album were played on the main Rock radio stations
in London (England) and Rome (Italy). Blues and Rock radio stations in
the US, Argentina, Canary Islands, France and Russia also played tracks
from The Same Old Street.
Taking advantage of the great moment, Mario Rossi enters the studio again and records what became the Heavy album.

Metal heavyweights NERVOCHAOS for the band's 25th anniversary
celebration in the form of a new album made of exhumed cadaverous
material from their early discography, completely rewritten and
re-recorded, titled "Dug Up (Diabolical Reincarnations" in stores Nov.19
on CD and digital.
Featuring
brand new versions of songs originally appearing on the band's fourth
