June 06th 1992 the Fantoft Stave church was burned to the ground, the first in a string of church burnings by members of the early Norwegian black metal scene. The year is now 2021 and with it comes a world polarised by warring factions, immersed in societal chaos with its citizens deeply embedded in factional hatred, all whilst praying at the altar of their false gods. An uprising is coming! A bellowing war cry sits in the parched and hoarse throats of true believers, each one calling for the destruction of the old religious orders that have enslaved the populace for too long.

El 6 de junio de 1992, la Iglesias de Fantoft Stave fue incendiada hasta los cimientos, la primera de una serie de incendios de Iglesias por parte de miembros de la primera escena del black metal noruego. El año es ahora 2021 y con él llega un mundo polarizado por facciones en guerra, inmerso en el caos social con sus ciudadanos profundamente arraigados en el odio entre facciones, todo mientras rezan en el altar de sus dioses falsos. ¡Se acerca un levantamiento! Un grito de guerra rugiente se asienta en las gargantas resecas y roncas de los verdaderos creyentes, cada uno pidiendo la destrucción de las antiguas órdenes religiosas que han esclavizado a la población durante demasiado tiempo.

Urgent was founded by two brothers Yvan Quiblier (lead vocals) and Steff Rabilloud (guitars and vocals) in Grenoble (France) in the late 90s, with the addition of Yves Delelo (drums and vocals), Didier Teixeira (bass and vocals) & David Petrone (guitars), replaced by Pierre Caci in 2015.

The sound of Urgent can be described as melodic Hard-Rock, with soft touches of classic Heavy Metal and some AOR here and there... Strong choruses, powerful vocal harmonies with melodic and stunning guitar solos... The perfect mix between Pretty Maids, Eclipse and Gotthard!

For almost nearly 20 years, Urgent has released 2 LPs (Out of Time 2005 & Asylum 2011) and given dozen of gigs across Europe, opening and playing with Sister Sin, Blaze Bailey, Manigance, Nightmare, Jeff Scott Soto / Terry Ilous (acoustic version), Now Or Never, Satan Jokers... Steff also played around Europe with Nightmare (including Wacken Open Air 2000) and more recently with Öblivïon / KingCrown (2 albums on R.O.A.R. and several shows in France, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands and Swiss...)

Sorcerer drops new cover single and music video for Saxon's "Crusader"

Today (November 12th), Swedish doom metallers Sorcerer releases their cover version of "Crusader" to all major digital platforms via Metal Blade Records.

The original song was the title track to Saxon's sixth album "Crusader", released in 1984, and is still one of the most beloved songs from these NWOBHM pioneers.

Sorcerer vocalist Anders Engberg says: "For me Saxon, they have always been there, ever since I started listening to heavy metal, and I had the luck to tour with these guys with my old band (Lion's Share)".

Drummer Richard Evensand, who is a huge Saxon fan, is super excited. "It was the first band I started to really follow as a teenager and it still is one of my favorite bands today. For me Saxon equals energy and long tom rolls… in fact more than long tom rolls; mega tom rolls perhaps. Nigel Glockner has really influenced my play as a drummer. You can imagine that I was immediately in favor of making a Sorcerer rendition of "Crusader". It's the most powerful song there is on this planet! Peter Hallgren did an excellent job on the arrangement. We hope everyone loves our version as much as we loved making it!"

Long Gone Into Oblivion - (Punk-Metal)

 

FFO: Megadeth, Powertrip, Corrosion of Conformity BIO: Hellpie makes heavy music for people that eat pie. Specifically evil pies. Not like apple pie, but really tormented, sadistic pies. This groove metal concoction is infused with Edward Simpson on vocals and guitars, Bryon Ciotti on bass, and Steve 'bones' McKay on drums. Their fourth album “Long Gone Into Oblivion”, with six tracks and a subtle nod to Mike Bossier at Oblivion studios, has some heavy riffs, some thick grooves and some deeps thoughts. It’s starts you off on your journey with current events like our struggles with social justice and civil rights and the stigma to choose a side in the track “Rubber Bullets”, a tune with an urgent flow and an air raid breakdown. Then they touch on the subject of climate change and how the temperature is rising in “Burned Alive”, and how our earth is fighting back against the human virus. As we are taking more than we need and we ask are we in fact “Long Gone “(with guest vocals by Jeremy Dyer) too far down the road to our own destruction to turn back. Which leads us to our current challenge to remain strong and fight on in this “World of Pain” with a driving main riff that changes to a swaying break that rocks back and forth like choppy waves at sea. Through it all we must in fact become as one to create a rebirth and a “New Reality”. We must plant a new seed and grow a new future. In this song there is calm, there is turbulence and then there is unity. In the end of this journey, we find that although we start at the bottom and we walk a tight rope through life we will fight on and together we will “Rise”. Enjoy the ride!
