Changes with every step...
The Finns of Sentenced are a band that presented themselves in a new stylistic guise with almost every release in the first years of their existence. From the extreme Finnish Ur-Death-Metal formation of the early days to the end of their career, the band's path was quite changeable.
Especially on the album "Amok" presented here, the band once again reinvented themselves and created a long player that was groundbreaking for their further development.
With "Nespenthe", for which an elaborate video clip was also shot, the band created their first big hit, which was also noticed outside the then manageable metal cosmos through airplay and thus paved a new path for the band.

Sentinel Beast was formed in Sacramento (California) in 1984 by Debbie Gunn (vocals), Mike Spencer (bass) and Scott Awes (drums). During this time, the axes were played by Greg Williams and Jerry Fraiser, later to be replaced by Barry Fischel and Mark Koyasako.
Discovered by Kerry King of Slayer, the band recorded and released the influential „Depths Of Death“ album on Metal Blade Records in 1986. „Depths Of Death“ was produced by Bill Metoyer (Slayer, Omen, Trouble, Sacred Reich and many more)
Sentinel Beast opened up for the likes of Slayer, Exodus, Megadeth, Mercful Fate, King Diamond amongst others.
So it is finally time to Re-Release this gem and make it available. THIS is a piece of music history.

Cryptobiosis are ready for their definitive and third assault to be unchained via Art Gates Records worldwide in 2021. Formed in 2014 in Hamburg (Germany), the sound these metalheads create is a crushing blend of old school Death and Thrash Metal along with some classic NWOBHM elements and shred-infused solos. All in onegiving as a result the perfectly defined extremes ound of this sharp-edged chainsaw.

Today’s review is of Danish Modern Metal band Urban Primate’s new album.
This band creates here a soothing aura of Americanised metal that brings to mind acts such as Avenged Sevenfold or Five Finger Death Punch, but they also imbue their compositions with some extra heaviness that is later compensated with Grunge inspired bits (something that reminds of certain Stoner Metal bands, though besides this detail no further comparison with the genre may be found). As a result, the album is easy to listen to, but it also has some harshness that may aid newcomers in their pursuit for heavier music while striving in their quest for freshness.
As so, the full-length may be somewhat commercially friendly, and although its straightforwardness, atmospheric essence and display of emotion with some melodramatic excessiveness may scare off the strictest purists, fans of classic metal may not be too fond of the release but may not find it too unappealing either. My personal highlights are “Won’t Follow” and “Walk Away”.
I recommend this album to fans of Modern Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
