Jo Steel & Dave Rotten join forces in WEAPONRY!! New Death/Crust massacre to come out soon on Xtreem Music!

Canadian Jo Steel (ICE WAR/ APHRODITE/ EXPUNGED) and Spaniard Dave Rotten (AVULSED/ HOLYCIDE/ CHRIST DENIED/ FAMISHGOD) have joined forces in a new band called WEAPONRY whose intention is to create the dirtiest, most intense and relentless Death/ Crust on both sides of the Atlantic ocean!!

WEAPONRY was born in early 2021 when Jo Steel wrote a bunch of songs for a new project still unnamed and without a vocalist for it until one day, in spring of the same year, he decided to show Dave Rotten what he recorded and since a friend of Jo which was supposed to do vocals, never replied, Dave was asked to join and so this project became a more serious thing under the name of WEAPONRY with a cool logo and a concept behind.

During summer, the 10 songs were properly mixed and vocals were recorded with the use of lyrics provided by Rogga Johansson (PAGANIZER/ MASSACRE/ PUTREVORE) and then sent to Germany for a proper STEM mastering by Dan Swanö at Unisound Studios. The cover artwork was done by Spanish artist José Vives, which perfectly depicts the post-apocalyptic theme of the band. "Everwinding Slaughter" contains 10 songs of a dirty, intense and savage Death/ Crust full of catchy riffs and relentless tempo. Influences may come from bands like COMECON, DOOM, NIHILIST, DISCHARGE, AUTOPSY, EXTREME NOISE TERROR, MASTER, UNCURBED… The album will be released on the 11th of January 2022 on CD, 12"LP & Cassette by Xtreem Music.

The tracklist for "Everwinding Slaughter" is as follows:

01. Speedkill
02. The Oozer
03. Road Rat Rage
04. Future Wasteland
05. The Burned Land
06. Crossbow Warrior
07. Into the Dome
08. Zone Traveler
09. Fields of Mutation
10. Toxic Waste Overture

The release date for "Everwinding Slaughter" will be January 11th, 2022 through Xtreem Music on CD, 12"LP & Cassette formats. You can visit WEAPONRY's official site here: www.facebook.com/WeaponryDeathCrust and listen to the first advance song on the following link: https://youtu.be/6bvCToyZsTE

THOLA – SOMEWHERE ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Swiss Power Thrash Metal band Thola’s new album.

Mixing the fantastic and epic elements of Power Metal with a modern and occasionally-pretty-hard-when-compared-with-similar-bands kind of Thrash Metal, the group deliver here an easy to listen yet powerful album that may also appeal to fans of Epic Heavy Metal on some occasions.

Perhaps the main element of the release is its modernity, although fans of the classic approach to the subgenre may also enjoy it. With a good production and heavy yet not too commercially evading riffs, the full-length takes Power Metal through a sort of new direction without straying too much from the norm, offering songs with identity that nonetheless somewhat stick to the general formula. My personal highlights are the title track and “X-Treme”.

I recommend this album to fans of modern Heavy Metal, Thrash Power Metal and Power Metal. My rating is of 8/10.

REDEMPTOR – AGONIA (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Polish Technical Death Metal band Redemptor’s upcoming new album, out on December 3rd.

Proving once more the talent of the members that also play in other renowned Polish bands, the album offers powerful Technical Death Metal in the likes of Nile or current Pestilence, though their approach is usually more atmospheric, bringing to mind acts such as Ulcerate, though despite the same kind of darkness is weaved this full-length also has much more straightforward bits to compensate. With this in mind, the album is pretty innovative and displays a new direction for Death Metal that sounds fresh and is interesting to hear, although it strays from the classic approach.

If you want something modern yet dark, violent yet hypnotic and oppressive yet technical look no further. This full-length certainly proves that Technical Death Metal can be a neat subgenre in the rare occasions when it’s not all about proving the band’s brutality and virtuosity. My personal highlights are “Potion Of The Skies” and “Les Ruines De Pompei”.

I recommend this album to fans of Technical Death Metal, Progressive Death Metal and Atmospheric Death Metal. My rating is of 9/10.
