PHENOCRYST stream BLOOD HARVEST debut EP at Death Metal Promotion - features members of SUMMON, NECROBODE, SCUM LIQUOR, CONCILIUM, SEPULCROS

Today, Portuguese death metallers Phenocryst stream the entirety of their highly anticipated debut EP, Explosions, at the Death Metal Promotion YouTube channel. Set for international release on December 17th via Blood Harvest Records on CD and cassette tape formats - the 12" vinyl version will follow next year - hear Phenocryst's Explosions in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Hailing from Portugal, Phenocryst was formed in early 2020 by D.S. (Archaic Tomb, Summon) and P. Tosher (Extreme Unction, Scum Liquor,  ex-A Tree of Sign), with N. (Summon, Sepulcros, Concilium) and V.M. (Systemik Violence, Necrobode) joining later on, during the recording of their debut EP. The band is based in the outskirts of Lisbon, and the origin of such conjuration is a rigorous consequence of a vibrant underground activity in the city.

D.S. and P. Tosher wanted to create the foundation of a death metal act crossing other influences like doom and some psychedelic vibes, to illustrate soundscapes of disastrous, catastrophic, and annihilating volcanic and natural events. There are not many artists actually singing about this specific topic, if any, and therefore, the lyrical content is also something to explore. As such, the moniker Phenocryst is fitting.

Aptly titled Explosions, Phenocryst now reveal their debut recording. Totaling five tracks (one instrumental) over 23 minutes, Explosions unsettles with preternatural ease, reeking of death stench and obscure delirium. Phenocryst are proudly and purely death metal, but are emboldened in their liberation to explore within this rich language: Only Death is Realer.

Indeed, Explosions is an explosive event, and one which marks Phenocryst's forthcoming debut album, which is currently being prepared. Take the first step into their burnt lands...

The full step can be taken exclusively HERE, courtesy of the Death Metal Promotion YouTube channel. Preorder info can be found HERE. Cover artwork, courtesy of Belial NecroArts, and tracklisting are as follows:

For Boris & The Horribles “Close My Eyes Forever” Pre-Save Link:

Alison “MetalBabe” Cohen has been living and breathing rock n’ roll since she went to her first concert when she was 10 years old. She is a ‘rock journalist with a clothing line,’ and enjoys writing and editing for various publications, as well as running her own Rock n’ Roll Lifestyle Company Metal Babe Mayhem.
Metal Babe Mayhem, “Where Music and Fashion Meet,” was founded in 2006 and has over 30 unique designs available on a variety of clothing options for guys and girls. The Metal Babe Mayhem line also consists of hand-made guitar pick necklaces, rings, dog tags, bottle openers, flasks, stickers, patches, cowboy hats, tote bags, and more. D’Monic Boris Lee has been working on a cover album for his project Boris & The Horribles. To date he has released three singles: “Judy Is a Punk,” (The Ramones) “Hard Luck Woman,” (KISS) and “Bark at the Moon” (Ozzy Osbourne) featuring guitar great Jimmy Adcock. All singles can be found on Spotify.

“Close My Eyes Forever,” which is a duet Ozzy Osbourne and Lita Ford released on Lita’s album ‘Lita’ in 1988, will be the fourth single. D’Monic Boris Lee and Alison “MetalBabe” Cohen recreated this heartfelt ballad with Alison as one of “The Horribles.”

D’Monic’s vocals and music were recorded in North Carolina. Alison’s vocals, mixing, and mastering were done in Los Angeles by legendary producer Bill Metoyer. (Slayer, Armored Saint, Lizzy Borden, Sacred Reich)

Alison was thrilled when D’Monic Boris Lee asked her to step into his project, Boris & The Horribles, to sing Lita Ford’s part in the duet (with Ozzy Osbourne) “Close My Eyes Forever.” She never in a million years thought she would have a professional recording of that song from Bill Metoyer.

RISE OF KRONOS: sign with MDD, new album in sight!

Hamburg death metallers Rise Of Kronos, still known to many under their former band name SURFACE, have signed with MDD and will most likely release their new album in the first quarter of 2022! The renaming took place at the beginning of this year, among other things to connect the band's concept even more strongly with the dark-antique world of Greek mythology, which thus becomes more central. Originally, the band's fourth album was supposed to be released this year, but as is often the case, things turned out differently, and as we all know, good things come to those who wait.
In August, the quartet released "Cycles", an official video clip for the new material, in which they engage in a fierce guttural battle with Hiraes/Critical Mess frontwoman Britta Görtz.

More info on the upcoming album soon!
