Germany's TENSION premiere new track at InvisibleOranges.com

Today, German heavy metallers Tension premiere the new track "Black Knights" at heavily trafficked web-portal InvisibleOranges.com. The track is the third to be revealed from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Decay, set for international release on January 28th via Dying Victims Productions. Hear Tension's "Black Knights" in its entirety exclusively HERE.

Hailing from Leipzig, Germany’s Tension was founded in 2015 by vocalist Maik H. and guitarist Phil. M. during a night of dozens of heavy metal records and unlimited amounts of beer. The band was then rounded out by ex-members of Toxic Beast and Germany’s Prowler.

From the beginning, Tension’s influences were firm: the First Wave of Swedish Heavy Metal (or FWOSWHM), including the likes of Gotham City, Heavy Load, Jackwave, Parasite, Jonah Quizz, Depzon, and Stitch among others; the always-eternal NWOBHM, but particularly Satan, Traitors Gate, Wolf, Ritual, and Lime Light; heavy metal from the Eastern Bloc like Aria, Ossian, Formel I, Omen, and Pokolgép; and different kinds of punk music, but most prominently The Misfits and Discharge. In other words, the PERFECT type of band for Dying Victims – and not surprisingly, Tension released their self-titled debut EP through the label in 2017. Gigs followed with the esteemed likes of Manilla Road, Satan, Pagan Altar, Tokyo Blade, and Alien Force among others.

Now, nearly five years since the Tension short-length, Tension unleash their debut album, Decay. Right from its very first seconds, Decay sparkles with an excitement that’s absolutely addicting and endearingly timeless, running through a virtual jukebox of Old but brimming with the effervescence of Now. It’s pure heavy metal, through and through, with juiced-up hard rock and moody punk subtly integrated, and the power is always in abundance but never overbearing; Tension’s cool & cruising momentum harkens to a lost era of feel over sheer speed. At the fore are nightsky-ascending lead guitars, whose narrative melodies straddle a fine line between metal classicism and something closer to dark hard rock. And Maik’s clear ‘n’ emotive vocals bespeak bathos and pathos, bravado but tenderness, epic adventures as well as long nights at the bar.

The cassette and CD versions of Decay will include nine tracks, with the self-titled EP added to the latter as bonus tracks. The vinyl version of the album will include eight tracks due to length, with the extra track saved for a split EP to be released later in 2022. In the meantime, no better time to experience the “Higher Power” of Tension’s Decay!

Symmetric Records presents VASS/KATSIONIS "Ethical Dilemma" - οut on 02.02.2022

Artist:            VASS/KATSIONIS

Album:           Ethical Dilemma

Genre:           Progressive/Power Metal

Label:            Symmetric Records

Street Date:  02/02/2022

"Ethical Dilemma" is the result of a collaboration between Terra 1nc0gnita's vocalist, Billy Vass, and multi-musician/producer, Bob Katsionis. The idea that started as a solo album for Vass, concluded to a progressive metal album, that could not go without the established name of Katsionis on the project, as a whole. With this in mind, the 2 collaborators joined their love for progressive metal music, each with his distinctive angle on songwriting, and the result is an 8 song journey, into the depths of time-changing signatures, complex guitars, and keyboards, and the unique 4-octave range of Billy Vass.

It seemed the timing was right for Katsionis and Vass to put something like this together, sighting the hiatus that Vass is taking from songwriting for Terra 1nc0gnita, and Bob stepping down from his responsibilities from the mighty Firewind. Joined by long time friends and bandmates Bill DiBenedetto on the drums and Telis Kafkas, one of Greece’s best professional bass players, they grabbed the chance to start songwriting, together, and the outcome is this exceptional record.

Billy Vass:

" It's definitely a concept album. It didn't really begin that way. When I began writing the lyrics & melodies, I realised  how the music to every song had a

"constant". Therefore, unintentionally, the lyrics started producing their own "constant". Although the songs are not storytelling through the lyrics, there is one specific theme in all of them. You can get a clearer picture by the album title. This collaboration brought out the best of my vocal &  lyric abilities. I gave it my all, heart &  soul, and I feel this album is transcendent."

Bob Katsionis:

“I’ve known Billy Vass for over a decade, and I was always amazed by both his vocal timbre and stage presence. By giving me the chance to write music for him, I could go in places I’ve never been before, or at least since 1998 when with playing Progressive metal with my former band, Retrospect. The 90’s progressive metal as it was presented to us by Fates Warning, Queensryche and Conception was our foundation, on which we built our own fortress, the “Ethical Dilemma” album.”

Neuropsy - Vivisection Of The Demented - (Death Metal)

Release Date: January 20, 2022

FFO: Soreption, Beyond Creation, Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation

Location: Portugal

Label: DyMM P&M

Neuropsy is a Death Metal band from Setúbal, Portugal, formed in 2016 by Fábio Abenta (vocals), João Martins (guitar), Jorge Leitner (bass) and Oleg Lozhkin (drums). The band has released one EP in 2017 focusing on Egyptian lyrical themes and a full-length album on 2018, focusing on gore, death, doom and destruction based lyrical themes, with an old school sound, raw, groovy and straight to the point.

As for the new upcoming EP ''Vivisection Of The Demented'' soon to be released in January 2022, the band has worked on this record for the past three years. There has been lineup changes throughout this period, having the current line up been completed as of recently, consisting of Fábio Abenta (vocals), João Martins (guitar), Flávio Kebras (guitar) and Jorge Leitner (bass). The band is currently without a drummer. The main themes for the songs on this record are based on the human fragile psyche. It dwells deeper on the problems of the mind such as depression, dementia, schizophrenia, among other mental disorders. It draws from different perspectives, such as personal introspective on the sickness, the outcome of your being determined by those in power of your life, the simple understanding of our meaningless existence, and even satire regarding the lunacy and insanity of our mindset. The music presents you with some solid death metal riffage, with a good balance of heaviness, melody, groove and rhythm variations.

Paradoxicide - Savior - (Death/Thrash Metal)

Release Date August 19, 2021

FFO: Sepultura, Slipknot, Testament, Slayer, Cavalera Conspiracy

Paradoxicide is a new classic death metal band and is the brainchild of a middle aged midwest male in Holland, OH. The music and lyrics came to him in a Covid induced fever dream over the 2020 lockdown. Once recovered, he knew what he must do. He contacted the best musicians he could find to record the music Covid gifted him. Once they all declined he reached out to former bandmates of lesser skill and hired a singer from an underground Metal website. Over the past several months they have been recording their debut album SAVIOR. The first two songs on the upcoming album, 'Savior' and 'Art of Artifice' have been released on all major streaming platforms and are available in the iTunes store and Amazon Music. The third single, 'Crown of Rust' is scheduled to be released 9/3/2021 with the remainder of the album coming out early Winter 2021. Paradoxicide makes no claims to the quality of the music and lyrics. We also make no apologies for them either.
