SCORN Unleashes Guitar Playthrough 'A Lack of Communication' Off New Album "A Comedic Tragedy"

Unleashing the full length “A Comedic Tragedy” this past January, Canadian technical death metal SCORN has posted a new guitar playthrough for the track 'A Lack of Communication', which can be viewed via its premiere on GhostCult Magazine HERE.

Guitarist Steven Rowlands comments:

"This song was the second last song written for the album and the lyrics are basically just about what I consider to be, for the sake of professionalism, “silly” as well as me not being able to communicate my ideas or my thoughts across because overthink things a lot and get ahead of myself in my own brain and tend to have a lot of cognitive dissonance. The song’s music was really easy to write though. It seemed that the riffs just flowed out when I was writing them."

Formed with the intention of playing high-intensity death metal, SCORN has risen from the depths of Guelph, Ontario bringing a formidable onslaught of harsh riffs and crushing vocals.
Having experience in other projects, the duo of Julian Dutton and Steven Rowlands came together in 2015 to flesh out their technical death metal dreams in a flurry of abrasive melodies with brutal undertones. Although SCORN started as a group project, it is now a solo project of Rowlands who has taken over writing, programming, and performance of all aspects of the tracks. While the band is currently solo, there is the possibility of a full band forming or live shows and future albums.
Highlighting their aggression, and with the music influencing the lyrical content, SCORN writes about personal conflicts, with things being emphasized for dramatism, and other personal topics.
Their debut EP “To Bleed or Not To Bleed” was released in 2015 and followed by the full length “A Comedic Tragedy” released during January 2020. Recording and writing duties were mainly done by Steven Rowlands except for tracks 'Dense Mind', 'Psychotic Acts', 'Demented', 'Phagocytosis' with Julian Dutton plus 'Chemical Lobotomy' with Alex Snape and the album's last track 'Falling Fortress', Rowland's own father contributed lyrics. The album was produced by Steven Rowlands and Alex Snape of Nomadic Media.
Rowlands adds:
"I’ve created an album which, I feel, has captured an older feel of death metal while still remaining aware of what year it is and how tastes have changed in the metal scene. I show who my influences are and I have no shame in that. The music may not be as fast as some of the more extreme bands out there, but the aggression and intensity still shine through, in my eyes. There has been a lot of work put into this so I hope those who listen to it can hear that. This is the first album that I’ve made almost entirely by myself and I am very happy with the end results and there will be lots more music to come."

SCORN's "A Comedic Tragedy" is available on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music.

TALES OF THE TOMB Share Guitar Playthrough 'Sinful Messiah' Off Conspiracy EP “Volume Two: Mendacium”

For fans of Macabre, At The Gates, Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Psychological Horror Metal / Death Metal / Murder Metal
Edmonton death metal duo Tales of The Tomb are sharing with fans their latest guitar playthrough for 'Sinful Messiah'. The track comes off of the band's EP “Volume Two: Mendicium” unleashed this past September. The EP itself is a collection of narratives surrounding government cover-ups, national lies and the heinous crimes committed amongst the shadows. It's also a vicious bite of grinding blast beats, technical shredding accompanied by venomous guttural lows.

'Sinful Messiah', the third track of six on the EP, is a dark tale of the infamous cult leader David Koresh and the Branch Davidians (if you follow Netflix, watch WACO).
Today, guitarists Trez Thomas and Corey Skerlak have put together a new playthrough for the song, which is one of many more videos being released by the band in the coming weeks.

Behold the shredding duo
via the video's premiere on Ghost Cult Magazine HERE.
The band explains the story behind the song:
“Our song ‘Sinful Messiah’ focuses on the cult leader from the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas — David Koresh. The Branch attracted the attention of the ATF when the US postal service flagged a suspicious parcel containing live hand grenades being shipped to their compound. The name ‘Sinful Messiah’ is ripped from the headline of a newspaper article giving him the title; because David believed he was the second coming of Christ. This song was written to sonically recreate the events that took place portraying the level of chaos and confusion created by raids and the siege on the compound. This event has been regarded by some as a publicity stunt in the wake of cult hysteria to paint the ATF in a positive light — leading to a “who shot first?” conspiracy.”

Behold the shredding duo in the following video via Ghost Cult Magazine HERE.

“Volume Two: Mendicium” was mixed and mastered by Cryptopsy guitarist and head engineer/owner at The Grid Studios Christian Donaldson along with featuring artwork by Tony Midi of Tonymidi Artworks. The EP
is available on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music.

Track Listing:
1. The Nightmare Hall (4:05)
2. Faul (3:02)
3. The Sinful Messiah (4:14)
4. Dyatlov Pass Incident (3:52)
5. Nine Eleven (4:46)
6. Mermaid In A Manhole (3:33)
EP Length: 23:44

Unified by the desire to have the grotesque power of 90’s era death and murder metal, Tales of The Tomb started as a thought that grew into an insatiable need to make extreme music.  Tales Of The Tomb was created in October 2013 from founder Corey Skerlak (guitar, vocals) out of inspiration from the original murder metal band Macabre.
Much of their inspiration is drawn from the hideous crimes and conspiracies of the world. Retelling stories of the dark hidden secrets and victims from such crimes. This was the inspiration for the name Tales of The Tomb

"Overall, I recommend this album to death metal fans of all varieties. It is a fun album with a lot of great riffs. Also, I highly recommend reading the lyrics and learning about the conspiracy theories behind the songs." - Metal Temple

"Volume Two: Mendacium is six songs of punishing metal fit for listeners with the heaviest of taste. Whether you’re spending time carving pumpkins or watching slasher movies this Halloween season, be sure to make room on your playlist for Tales of the Tomb." - Surviving The Golden Age

" Their new, independently released EP is heavy as ice and laced up with razor-sharp production. Volume Two: Mendacium is a non-stop frosty riff fest, delivered on a moose-poutine platter of awesome production thanks to the Canucks over at The Grid. Slapshot your wallets & pick up this death metal gem." - TrveNorth Reviews

"The need to head bang is strong with this one, and it made for an excellent addition to my Death Metal library." - New-Transcendence

"All in all, Tales of the Tomb's latest installment is a rather subtle tale that is more akin to a destructive musical journey through morbid lyrical themes and passages." - Metal Trenches

TILTED

Born at the Jersey Shore in 2009, Tilted started out as a hard rock cover band influenced by the likes of KISS,AC/DC, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Metallica and many others from that genre of music. However, it was n’t until Tilted added a few originals to their lineupt hat they became noticed by clubs and landed regular gigs at the Red Lion in Brick, NJ, Cranberries in Manchester, NJ, The Landmark Tavern in Sayreville, NJ,and The Dugout Pub in Staten Island, NY. As the original songs grew more popular, Tilted proceeded to land more prominent gigs at venues like the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park NJ, as well as the “home oforiginal music”, the Brighton Bar in West Long Branch,NJ. In 2012, Tilted became more serious with their original song writing talents and put together a new lineup introducing lead vocalist, WiL Deehan and in 2015,welcomed bassist, Andrew Deehan. Lead by thepowerful riffs and guitar leads of founding member Steve Cavico, thundering drums by original member Tommy Deehan, strong lead vocals and main lyric writing by WiL Deehan, along with powerful and imaginative bass lines by Andrew Deehan, Tilted composed a number of fresh and powerful new songs. With all original songs, Tilted hit the shore once again becoming regular staples at the Brighton Bar, opening up for national acts such as Hookers and Blow (ft. DizzyReed of G n R), Anvil, Corky Laing (from Mountain) and Tantric. Tilted also opened for well known acts such as Prophet and Judas Priestess at the Stone Pony and has been requested personally by Don Jamieson (ThatMetal Show) to play in several of his shows at the Brighton which were huge hits. As 2017 approached,Tilted got their 1st show at the infamous 2500 capacity venue Starland Ballroom in Sayreville NJ opening for Udo Dirkschneider from Accept. Just recently, Tilted got chance to open for NJ's own SKID ROW at theStarland Ballroom! This was one of the most biggest shows for Tilted.Tilted was recently featured as the Jersey Rock Band ofthe week on NJ's own WRAT 95.9 The Rat! This included a 3 night interview and 3 of our tracks played on the station! A triumphant feat by the band!

ITNUVETH - Pagan Black Metal/Spain

Itnuveth was born in 2013, when Volundr decides to unleash his admiration for pagan
and Viking culture, and start composing a few songs from Pagan Viking Black metal.
After having finished all the songs, he contacted Lian Krossburner, vocalist of the
Barcelona black metal band Edenkaiser, and offered him the position of vocalist for
this project / studio band.
She decides to go in and get to work with the lyrics and the voices and thus giving
the end point to the band's first album entitled "The Way of the Berserker". After
having finished it, Jose Antonio Vives, an excellent national illustrator puts his
art to the new album. Having all the music, lyrics and art, Dave Rotten is in charge
of the mix and master and after this, "The Way of the Berserker", It is released by
the national label Xtreem Music.

The band continues to work, and the second full length "Paulsilaur: Under the Wolf's Skin"
begins to take shape. This work is accompanied by several changes, for example, Lianne
Krosburner leaves the band to focus on his band Edenkaiser and his other projects, and Funedëim
(Svipdagr, Dis Gob, Famishgod) comes in to take over the vocals and lyrics.
"Paulsilaur: Under the Wolf's Skin" was mixed by Marc Figueras Franch from the studios
Produccions F2F and this time, the label that released the album was Base Record by Gaspar del
Valle Marco. Jose Antonio Vives, continues with the art design of the new album, thus remaining
from the beginning with Volundr, as the only members since the founding of the band.
After a very good reception of "Paulsilaur: Under the Wolf's Skin" by both the media and the fans
of the band, work begins on its successor, "Enchantmens", which follows the line of its predecessor,
although it incorporates much faster elements, but surely, we could speak of the least valued album
of the band in the trajectory that it takes until today.

The next step would be a new full-length, "Tales and Legends of Wolves," which was released in a special
cardboard box edition with numerous extras. This, contrary to "Enchantments", returned to take the path
left by "Paulsilaur: Under the Wolf's Skin", working quite well and reaching countless places in the world,
thanks to Gaspar del Valle and his Base Records record. In this work, a new member of the band, Vali VastraSkogen,
enters the flutes and other wind instruments, bringing much more folk character to the compositions. In addition
to that, another novelty was the video we recorded with producer Rubén Rodríguez of Neburzone Producciones, on
the song “Trained By Wolves”.
After four complete albums, the time had come to do something different, and that was the case of the mcd "Pagan
Martyrs", with a beautiful presentation in art, size 7 ", with imitation vinyl cd, a poster and a pick. In this
work, the person in charge of mixing and mastering this gcd was Rubén Rodríguez from Neburzone Producciones, doing
a great job, giving the band a much clearer but equally powerful sound. Also in this work Adalstein enters the drums,
thus leaving a band with four members, and of course, giving the compositions a much more human character than the
programmed drums.
The activity of the band continues without rest, and this time it is the turn of a shared split "Black with thViking Alliance

”Together with the black metal band Cult of Self Destruction, thus leaving a fairly complete job, being a formation
of a more melodic black viking and the other with a more raw and direct black. The presentation of this work comes in
a luxurious three-body double digipack and an A3-size poster.
And the most current is the new full album, "Enuma Elish", an album where the style of the band continues, although
somewhat more mature and refined. We said that the same people are still on this album, making it more compact and homogeneous. One of the most remarkable things, without a doubt, is the cover made by Jose Antonio Vives, a true wonder.
