BEHIND THE HORROR – BURN UP THIS TRUTH ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Brazilian Thrash Metal band Behind The Horror’s album “Burn Up This Truth”.
To listen well to this, you must forget everything you know about Brazilian Thrash Metal, for it bears little to no similitude to their country’s own style. Maybe you could slightly compare it to modern Sepultura, but it still isn’t quite the same. This album has notable Progressive influences, especially in the illogical and not usually too good patterns, or in the notably less aggressive sound.
On some songs like “Storm Rage”, you may also aptly consider the band as one of Heavy Metal, especially in the style of the United States, but with a lot of modernity to it. Personally, I think it tends too much towards innovation, with basically nothing to do with the original concept of Thrash Metal, but maybe somewhat like 90’s Trash Metal. Nevertheless, the talent employed in the song writing is quite high.
A possible highlight may be “Resident Evil”, but most songs are kind of forgettable. Maybe in future albums a perfection of their sound gives better results. I recommend this to fans of Modern Thrash Metal, and my rating is of 7,5/10.
