HADAL : DECEMBER

HADAL is born at the end of 2009 in the depressive Italian town of Trieste. The aim was to merge atmospheric verses and dark metal riffs, creating a slow groove with melodic yet powerful guitars. The “Dark Water” promo was recorded in 2012 and stimulated some live activity and good hopes. A second promo, entitled “The Obscure I”, was released two years later. Many live gigs and nice reviews later, HADAL decided to produce its first full-length, "Painful Shadow" (2017 – Sliptrick Records).

Years passed by and HADAL decided to record something new. “December” is a compendium of their history; it is a greeting to ten years of activity and coexistence. The band rearranged some old tracks and composed some new melodies, keeping in mind one vision: a deeper sounding matter. This is how HADAL conceives metal music: a melancholic and gloomy sound, always linked to the people inner tragedies. Despite their inclination for the cold winter season, the overall result is a warm one, with no interest in overproduction. In certain cases, vocal interpretations pay tribute to the Mediterranean lyrical tradition, even if the menacing growl is still there to give a balance to the final result.

All the tracks have been mixed and mastered at Track Terminal Studio by Francesco Bardaro, who has proven to be a real sonic institution in the northeast Italian landscape (Damned Pilots, Tytus, Concrete Jelly)
