Today’s review is of Cuban Black Metal band Svartmass’ debut EP.
This release consists in 5 tracks of the purest form of Black Metal, plagued with dissonant tremolo picked chords, a constant and fast percussion mayhem and a wretched vocal performance speaking words of death and blasphemy.
While this EP doesn’t quite have anything too particular, it is pretty good within the average, without any sort of flaw in this completely purist approach. The darkness intended is truly transmitted, especially in “Toward The Purification Flames” and “The Necromancer”. If you’re in the mood for some classic Black Metal then this is what you’re searching for, they really catch the essence pretty well.
I recommend this to fans of Black Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
