MARTYRIUM – LAMIA SATANICA ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Maltese Symphonic Blackened Death Metal band Martyrium’s new upcoming album, out on March 19th.

This album includes high doses of symphony that sort of remind of Cradle Of Filth, although they are mostly on the right side of the line between precious grandeur and the absurd.

This release requires a few plays to fully grasp, but the darkness it transmits is pretty well built and reminds of Opera IX or Limbonic Art. The tracks I highlight are “Emanation Of Souls” and “Order Of The Fly”, but each track has its own unique touch that makes it interesting. This elaborate album includes a complex composition that delivers well the concept of Symphonic Black Metal adding their personal touch of Death Metal every now and then.

I recommend this album to fans of Symphonic Metal and Symphonic Black Metal. My rating is of 9/10.
