JOURNEY INTO DARKNESS- INFINITE UNIVERSE, INFINITE DEATH (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of American Symphonic Black Metal band Journey Into Darkness’ new album.

Marking some maturity since the last release, Journey Into Darkness continues to display a portrayal of cosmic dread and universal demise in an odyssey of orchestral darkness. Combining the synth driven symphonies with Blackened Death Metal like heaviness, the full-length will drag you deep into a maelstrom of obscure evil.

While some of the most extreme parts may seem unremarkable and nowadays common, the old-school ambience that encompasses the whole album is enjoyable, especially when combined with the eerie synths. Following the footsteps of its predecessor, this release has the same identity and unique sound. My personal highlights are “Infinite Disillusion” and “The Briefest Moment”.

I recommend this album to fans of Symphonic Black Metal and Blackened Death Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
