THE LUST – KARMALOVE ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Russian Symphonic Metal band The Lust’s album “Karmalove”, celebrating its international rerelease.

Delivering heartfelt metal in the likes of Lacuna Coil, the band display their experience, while their freshness is still apparent. With a modern sound throughout the album, fans of easy going Symphonic Metal or Gothic Metal may enjoy it.

Combining melancholic riffs with sentimental melodies and a soothing vocal performance, the band fill the ambience of their well-studied subgenre with an aura of gloom that is often omitted. Besides its softness that may allow for some commercial attention, the album may also appeal to fans of other melodic metal genres thanks to its unique and well-performed atmosphere. My personal highlights are “Run” and “What A Disorder”.

I recommend this album to fans of Symphonic Metal and Gothic Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
