Last Saturday 11/27 we attended a whole day of luxury, with the concert offered by Kiss Of Death (Kiss Tribute Band) in the Wolf room in Barcelona.
Although it all started weeks before with a phone call from Javier Rueda Moya "El Presi" from Kiss Army Spain and a great friend of the original Kiss, as he directs the division of his prestigious world fan club in Spain.
At that time we did not know each other, but Javier found out about me, through the Satan Things project to recover historic Rock posters, thanks to a collaboration that I did by giving a Kiss poster (Barcelona 1983) for a raffle in a special You Tube live by Kiss, in which greats from the Kiss universe of this country such as Jesús Valverde Ruiz, Rudy Goroskieta and Salva Rockss participated, by You Tuber Jordi Stanley, also a singer and guitarist of Kiss Of Death.
The fact is that in the conversation with Javier about leaving posters for sale in the Kiss Army Spain merchandise at the Kiss Of Death concert ...
I got the bug to set up a Merchan table together with them since I have great respect for this mythical fan club that I know since I started in this Metal roll, four decades ago and that I remember was with my first second-rate cassettes hand Unmasked Kiss and AC / DC's Let There Be Rock.
We, as Satan Things, had already left the fairs and concert merchants some year ago, but the occasion for me represented an honor to collaborate with Kiss Army Spain.
And when he told Javier Rueda, he was delighted, as was Jordi Stanley, and that's how Ana and I got involved in this magnificent story of "The Kiss Of Death Day".
More than twenty people met to get to know each other and eat on a terrace near the room, among the band Marc, Jordi, Jacinto, Charly, Alberto and Nuri, Javi Rueda and his wife Martina who had arrived from Madrid the day before, the horny guys Alex and Mauro who came from Galicia and Alicante for this concert and other fans of the Kiss Army, although we spent more time with them and I have to say that there were moments at that meal that brought me a tear of laughter with all these s new friends and is that as Tracey Lamb from Girlschool told us this past summer having a few beers "Heavy Metal people are a great family around the world". Nothing more true than what happened at that fraternal meal. Even Jordi briefly recorded us with his mobile for his You Tube "A day in the life of Jordi Stanley" ... what a Ruock and Ruock vermin !!!
From there we went to the hall to set up the Merchan stand and the band to sound check and set up the stage.
It had been many years since I entered the Wolf room, I still did not know it renovated as it is today, there we met Raquel the room manager who kindly showed us the facilities of the room and we chatted amicably, the truth is that the place had gained a lot in space in the new stage, lighting the room giving it elegance, very practical installations for both artists and the public with very well designed bars and canvas panels to separate rooms or shorten the room and very good sound, which will double shortly with more equipment.
In the 11 years of Kiss Of Death's existence, I had not seen or heard them although if I had heard of them, that they are currently the only Kiss tribute band in the whole country, their spectacular costumes are made by themselves in their totality and have various well-studied models from the different eras of Kiss and their collaborations with Kiss Army Spain.
But at the end of the sound checks when I heard the first songs of the band playing together they already surprised me ... to tell the truth the empty stage with the double bass drums of Charly Criss already augured a concert at least interesting.
The tests finished and the band went to the dressing room to put on makeup while doors opened and the public entered the room.
Before starting the concert Kiss Army raffle a membership pack with the impressive book edited by them "Kiss destroys Madison Square Garden" and we as Satan Things two posters the Promo Kiss Unplugged 1996 and the Kiss & Play boy Girls and followed by the raffles ....
Boom !!!!!
The band jumps on stage after the fierce presentation of Marc Simmons with Creatures Of The Night and Heavens On Fire at the moment the public was already jumping, the entire set that had been announced, were going to be hits in the history of everyone's life. sl @ s there present, the 200 people who attended did not stop dancing, shouting, singing in any part of the room that were fists raised or cheering while songs such as Fist Like A Gloove, Crazy Nights, were rehearsed. King Of Hearts, War Machine, I Love It Loud, Lick It Up and those who will be thrown out, the 80s of Kiss were there sounding Tope The Power !!!!
Musically and scenic with a perfect and colorful lighting of the group on stage, without shadows or dark silhouettes in a performance as sublime as brutal with Marc vomiting blood in the purest Simmons style, Detroit Rock City, Shout It Loud, Deuce, Shock Me, a Love Gun in which Jordi Stanley played it on a stage in front of the stage where the band was.
Each musician had their moment of solos but very well measured in time, none became heavy and they headed towards the end of the party with Shock Me, I Was Made, Black Diamond and Rock And Roll All Nite, fulfilling 2 hours of classics Rock of NY band
Beastly, partying and emotional night all the public could be heard saying leave very satisfied with what they experienced, we gave away five posters of the concert that I previously asked the four members of Kiss Of Death to sign for the children who I saw that they attended the concert and seeing the faces of the freaks they wore was priceless. Among them, Vicky was a big Kiss fan or the youngest of the three generations of Kiss fans, Manuel Valdivia, who was attended by grandfather, father and grandson !!!! Grandpa was already seeing Kiss in '83 so the child by family law had to have a Kiss Of Death Signed !!!! LOL
All the people who wanted could take photos in a Photo Call that we mounted next to the merch stand and there was even a visit from Pepe with 11 Bis in the backstage.
In short, it was a great day with an excellent night with many new friends, many visits from friends, a great concert, a great collaboration with Kiss Army, many beers with friends and a good ball.
The sales of the Satan Things merch, as it always goes, it doesn't work but it's funny ... to destroy !!!!
