Tygers Of Pan Tang

Another year almost gone and more gigs being cancelled as we write. It is with great regret that we have to tell you that our run of gigs in mainland Europe has now been postponed. This is bad news for us but worse for Tygers fans who have tickets and the promoters who have continued to show faith in the band. We have fingers well and truly crossed for the shows that we have planned for the rest of the year.

But it isn’t all doom and gloom. The new E.P. will be released on January 6th. It is a limited edition and initially can only be purchased from the Tygers website or directly from our record company. No shop sales, no streaming. Later in the year it will appear on streaming platforms and as a vinyl record but this is your first chance to hear Francesco bring his magic to the Tygers. Keep an eye on the website towards the end of the first week in January for ordering details to get your exclusive copy.

All that remains is to thank you for your support and we hope to see you next year. Oh yes, don’t forget to scroll down to read Huw’s life in music.

Merry Christmas from

Robb, Craig, Jack, Huw and Francesco.

My Life in Music - Huw Holding

The first record I bought was... Single was Ted Nugent "Cat Scratch Fever", album "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath".

The last record I listened to was... Nightwish "Human Nature"

Favourite single... Gary Moore "Over The Hills and Far Away"

Favourite album... Black Sabbath "Heaven and Hell"

My Saturday night music is... Celtic Frost

My Sunday morning music is... Nightwish or Blackmore's Night.

Vinyl, CD or MP3... CD for sound quality, vinyl for the artwork.

Album I wouldn’t part with... Black Sabbath "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" (original pressing + signed by Tony Iommi) or "Live After Death" by Iron Maiden (signed by Steve Harris)

My cult special... "The Peace" album by the Cult.

The record that you might not think I would listen to is... Michael Oldfield - "Moonlight Shadow"

The record that changed my life was... Hearing the bass blast in on "Smoke on the water"..... After discovering that I am a terrible singer, I decided that's what I wanted to do!

My music on the tour bus is... I make my own playlists of Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, UFO, the Who or Scandinavian Folk Metal.

First Tygers gig... Dunelm House 1981? Robb would know better. I used to go there with my elder sister and her friends (who loved the Tygers). My parents figured that having me in tow would prevent her from getting up to any mischief,

The band that inspired me to make music is... Black Sabbath

Favourite guitar player... Ritchie Blackmore.

Favourite bass player... Either Geezer Butler or John Paul Jones.

Favourite singer... Robert Plant or Ann Wilson

Favourite drummer... Craig says its him.

First gig I went to... Black Sabbath at Newcastle City Hall in 1980.

The best gig I have ever been to is... Ozzfest 98.

The gig I would like to watch again... Not again but... I didn't have enough money for a ticket to See Metallica in 86 (all my friends went and met the band inc Cliff Burton - my big regret).

Worst gig ever... Cher Wembley 89 .. I had to take my wife and her friends. Just horrible!

Gig that exceeded expectations... Venom/Exodus and Chariot Newcastle 1985.

The musician I respect most is... Jon Entwistle. Amazing bass style and also went out in style... or Bob Daisley, amazing bassist and songwriter,

Musician I would bring back to life... Randy Rhoads (gone way too soon).

Favourite Tygers gig... The next one.

My all time Favourite Tygers track is... "Gangland" or "Spoils of War" (could have been a James Bond theme song)

My top ten albums are

1. Black Sabbath "Heaven and Hell"

2. Led Zeppelin "III"

3. Iron Maiden "Killers"

4. The Cult "Love"

5. Slayer "Hell Awaits"

6. Megadeth "Peace Sells"

7. Accept "Staying A Life"

8. Rush "Exit Stage Left"

9. Nightwish "Vehicle of Spirit"

10. Ensiferum "Two Paths"
