LUCIFIST – GOAT SLAYING DEVIL PARTY MUSIC VOL. 666 (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of American Thrash Metal band Lucifist’s debut album.

This album is a fairly clear example of Pizza Thrash as done by modern and humorous American acts, although it is certainly heavier than many bands of this new wave, for they stray from the Bay Area formula and strive for a faster and angrier approach in the likes of the classic New York scene.

Especially with the vocals, the band reminisces Slayer (perhaps mostly in their final albums), but through mid-paced riffs that create a slightly epic aura they also gain autonomy from their imitators. While no song has an especially innovating flair, the album is a straightforward dose of classic Thrash mixed with elements of the new wave that deals with all the topics good Thrash should be sung about: nuclear devastation, Satan, alcohol, monsters, moshing… If you’re in the mood for something fun yet undeniably aggressive, you should check this out. My personal highlights are “Invert The Cross” and “Satan’s Satanic Satanists”.

I recommend this album to fans of Thrash Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
