Today’s review is of Brazilian Blackened Death Metal band Spiritual Hate’s album “Diabolical Dominium”.
This release delivers furious and old-school Extreme Metal containing those unceasing blast beats and wretched satanic growls us metalheads love. While the fairly raw production and actually pure sense of evil transmitted makes them stand out in a usually artificial subgenre for actually delivering what’s expected, at times there is a bit too much of a melodic undertone in certain tracks as to purely feel the aura. Although this is a very straightforward and blunt piece of metal.
Fans of anything brutal with dark and always aggressive intents will enjoy this album. It mostly tends towards the direction of Death Metal (perhaps sometimes even Brutal Death Metal), but the Blackened feeling is prevalent too. Combining their bestiality with solos that remind more of Thrash Metal to denote the classic influences, the release is in my opinion pretty solid. My personal highlights are “Awaiting Fucking Jesus” and “Behind The Lies Of God”.
I recommend this album to fans of Blackened Death Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
