YELLOWTOOTH Release Official Video for "From Faith To Flames"

Indiana's YELLOWTOOTH have released the official video for "From Faith To Flames." The track comes from forthcoming album The Burning Illusion. The video was directed by Adam Laughlin and can be viewed at this location.

Having survived the plague year, YELLOWTOOTH will release its long-awaited third album, The Burning Illusion, April 30 on Orchestrated Misery Recordings.

Working with Year of Desolation/Prime Specimen guitarist/studio engineer John Hehman at Bang Studios, this first recording with new drummer Dave Dalton behind the skins has captured YELLOWTOOTH's unique brand of heavy metal, incorporating styles from doom and sludge to a sonic cacophony of speed metal. Still hidden in the band's songwriting are elements hinting of southern stoked riffs and rhythms, venturing into exciting new musical territory that needs to be heard in its entirety.

In the coming months YELLOWTOOTH plans on sporadic live performances to showcase Burning the Illusion, and to continue perfecting new material for an upcoming EP. When is that going to emerge from the aether? Good question...

BIO:

The Yellowtooth journey began in 2008 when bassist/vocalist Peter Clemens (Invasion, Skullview, Sea of Tranquillity) joined forces with Chronic Disorder's seasoned veterans Ed Kribs (drums) and Henry McGinnis (guitar/vocals), striking the new band's first notes in the basement of a home built in 1900. Thus begun an uncharted march to play their brand of sludge, doom, and heavy metal for the unsuspecting masses, only to have the reality of life step in and try to block their progress.

Taking influences from Orange Goblin, Clutch, Weedeater, COC, Xysma and Black Sabbath, by 2009 the trio conjured up a 4-song demo showcasing the band's potential. The following year, Yellowtooth unleashed the debut full-length album, Disgust, and roughly five years later churned out the second opus, Crushed by the Wheels of Progress, which showed a bit of progressiveness and some maturation.

In 2018, drummer Ed Kribs left the band and was replaced by Dave Dalton, a dedicated musician from Central Indiana who has spent time playing drums with Ratzkrieg, Legion, and Demons of Wrathica. A high caliber artist, Dave has elevated the band's sound and has become a vital piece of the machinery.

Solus Ex Inferis is a trans-continental, technical death metal band founded by long-time musician and guitar player, Dave Sevenstrings alongside Marco Pitruzzella aka Lord Marco (Six Feet Under, Sleep Terror, ex-The Faceless), Sahil Makhija aka Demonstealer (Demonic Resurrection, Reptilian Death), Ollie Morgan (Necropathy) and Mauricio Catalán. The band first broke into the worldwide metal scene back in 2018 with their critically acclaimed 4-song EP, Demonic Supremacy. Three years on, Solus Ex Inferis has resurfaced with news of their debut full-length album, Daemones Ceramici; scheduled to be released on 9th July 2021. Alongside the announcement, the band has also unveiled a new single off of the upcoming LP titled, Destroying Malevolence. The track is accompanied with a slick lyric video featuring, in great detail, the diabolic cover art drawn by Tata Kumislizer. Stream/listen, [HERE].

Formed in 2017, Solus Ex Inferis came about as a means for the band’s original bassist and co-founding member, Matt Nemeth, to hone his audio engineering & production capabilities. Looking for a specific style of extreme metal drumming, Nemeth and Sevenstrings —  both die-hard fans of Pitruzzella’s work — decided to approach him to see if he’d be interested in joining the band. Once Pitruzzella agreed, the two decided to engage a full-time vocalist (Sahil Makhija) and a lead-guitar player (Ollie Morgan). This line-up, with members from US, Australia, Chile and India, went on to record the band’s debut EP, Demonic Supremacy. Soon after its release, Nemeth quit the band and was replaced by Mauricio Catalán. Catalán, besides being a bassist, also ran a full-fledged studio and it was here where the band’s upcoming full-length was entirely mixed & mastered.

Right from the band’s inception, it has been Dave Sevenstrings’ constant endeavour to write music that combined fast-paced, blast-beat style death metal with melodic lead elements and simultaneously was informed by the sounds of celebrated bands in the genre like Vital Remains, Hypocrisy, Deeds Of Flesh, Psycroptic etc. It started to evolve into its own thing once all the members started participating in the writing process and started to contribute some of their own musical influences from the different regions they came from. Hence, the music on Daemones Ceramici, while being devastatingly fast-paced and razor-sharp technical, “still retains the core of any good song, (and includes) solid riffs that you can headbang to” says Dave. If you thought the last EP was any indication of how brutal or extreme Solus Ex Inferis could sound, the full-length quashes all of that point-blank and strives to push all known boundaries within the tech-death realm. Named after the malevolent spirits in Greek mythology, Solus Ex Inferis’ debut full-length plays around concepts of demonology and the occult; often re-contextualizing it for the terrible state of the world as we know it today. “The album reflects on human beings as the real demons, it reflects the hypocrisy and hatred fueled by religion” adds Makhija, the band’s frontman and lyricist.

Hranice Abyss release music video "Flawless Oblivion"

Hranice Abyss seeks the union of visceral with aesthetic beauty, from pure catharsis to sublimation. Inspired by these concepts, the band releases the single together with the video clip “Flawless Oblivion”, with an exclusive debut on the Metal Injection website. "We are excited about the debut of the band's next new material," published the website.

"'Flawless Oblivion' revolves around modern life, the loss of will and free thinking. All the struggles we make to lead a normal, routine life, losing ourselves to the will of others. But in the midst of all the setbacks and moments difficult, people can move on, but with that feeling of emptiness inside. This is who we are. This is our story. The music itself has spatial-contemplative parts and also a heavy accelerated rhythm, making a parallel of anesthetized mind and anxiety, catharsis and sublimation, creating the environment for the lyrical approach", explains the band.

Regarding the video's debut, Hranice Abyss says it was a long day of filming and very tiring. "The day before we had to prepare all the configurations and the flags. In addition, we used a drone for some filming, creating a more open atmosphere for the video. The dance gave a special touch, we wanted a sentimental and sensitive feeling to the video, but at the same time, something that could bring the viewer a sense of narrative, without losing its aesthetics".

With several influences, ranging from The Black Dahlia Murder, Cattle Decaptation, Necrophagist, Death, Lamb of God and Slayer, mixing with more modern views of bands like Meshuggah, Slipknot and Decapitated, and contemplating productions from Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree, Hranice Abyss is the new bet of Death Metal / Deathcore and delivers a professional, modern work with reflective lyrics, which bring to philosophical issues of the cultural industry of Adorno and Horkheimer, of nihilism and the liberated life of Nietzsche, of the liquid relations of Bauman and Baudrillard simulations.

"We visited Freudian psychoanalysis and using the Byronesian poetics, to raise questions about where the postmodern man fits, of its complexes and traumas, the resignification of life, of affective relationships. In this media world where everything is a product and mental spaces are getting smaller, we want to face the abyss and contemplate the void that plagues our soul to find our meaning and transform it into art ”, explains the band.

In August 2020, Brazilian guitarist Henrique De Fina and Brazilian vocalist Vic Ferreira joined forces to create Hranice Abyss, a modern and artistic project, which believes that it is possible to produce a lot, with quality and with little resources. The band gains notoriety for being DIY (Do It Yourself), producing, directing and recording all their material, from the videos to the EP. From the beginning, the idea was to do everything and be in control to present a quality and professional project.

"Flawless Oblivion" is the band's second single, which anticipates their first EP of their career, entitled "Aphagy", which will be released in 2021. "Violation Of Human Condition" is the single that marked the band's debut in the music market, with debuts on the SLAM WORLDWIDE channel.

CATHARTIC DEMISE's 'In Absence' Out Now and Streaming!

Kitchener (ON) - Progressive Death/Thrash Metal quartet CATHARTIC DEMISE have released new album In Absence. Purchase/stream the album at: catharticdemise.bandcamp.com/album/in-absence

"A masterclass in classic progressive thrash music offering a unique sound that only Cathartic Demise can offer." (4/5)
- Brutalism

"Built with raw energy and refined with a ferocity left unmatched by other bands. Anyone looking for a more niche variant of Thrash Metal, or anyone who has a penchant for rawness and splitting energy, this album is the pick of the litter." (9/10)
- Metal Temple

"Very good album. If you are a fan of thrash metal, this band gives it a touch of freshness and innovation. Highly recommended." (9.4/10)
- Dargedik Rock Metal Webzine

"This is jaw dropping." (9/10)
- Metal Noise

"An exhilarating listen. Awesome stuff from Cathartic Demise."
- Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

"In Absence is unquestionably one of the best melodic thrash albums I've heard in some time. For those who are big fans of the genre and are looking for a band that bring fresh ideas to the table whilst also maintaining the staple sounds of the genre to a high level."
- Cave Dweller Music

"Fans of Thrashy Death Metal with a weakness for lively melodies should listen. Technically everything here is flawless. Wonderful melodies in abundance and a transparent production tailored to their body that is pleasant to hear at any time."
- Metal.de

"A very solid debut that showcases the band’s wide range and high level of execution."
- Heavy Music Headquarters

"The musicianship is superior and the production is very good—a compliment to proficiency."
- RebelNoise

"This impetuous and talented quartet rides fiery, swift and incisive music through their first LP."
- Antichrist Magazine

"The sound of mid 80s thrash delivered with passion through quality tunes."
- The Independent Voice

"The band is more in favor of that speed of yesteryear, but remarkably reformed with the instrumental gifts of its musicians. Aggressive, epic."
- Metal Friends

"Thrash played by very talented musicians who seem to be having tons of fun."
- Toilet ov Hell

In comparison to the band's self-titled EP, In Absence still consists of the Melo/Prog/Death Thrash Metal elements, but with a more "mature" approach. The overall musicianship within the band improved, as well as the overall songwriting capabilities. In Absence features the same aggression as the self-titled EP, but brings an intense atmosphere with extreme tempos, and brisk riffs. This release heavily carries on the epic melodic sections heard previously, and even going further with more complex song structuring and longer tracks. Aside from the aggressive side of things, hints of experimentation can be heard, showing slower sections, and clean parts as well.

BIO:

The thought of Cathartic Demise came into fruition on October 8, 2017, after high school friends Angus Pike (drums) and Bennett Smith (guitar/vocals) jammed for the first time, and immediately decided to form a group. Bennett had demos previously prepared, (two of the EP songs) and the week after Aaron Tanner would join the lineup, following a few weeks with Taylor Wroblewski (guitar) quickly completing the quartet. The four rehearsed immensely over a eight-month period landing their first show September 16, 2018. In December of 2018, the band entered into HM Studio, to record the self titled three-track EP Cathartic Demise, released April 26, 2019. For the rest of the year, the band played around Ontario, and in January 2020, Cathartic Demise would begin the recording sessions of In Absence.
