At the end of 2021, the Danish heavy rock band TIMECHILD released their debut album "And Yet It Moves", and received top reviews and big praise from all over the world. Now the band is back with their new single "Son & Daughter", where they have dug deep into their inspirations of the past and have reinterpreted this underrated and slightly atypical treasure from Queens first album from 1973.

It is a song that fits perfectly with Timechild's sound universe with a powerful and soaring lead vocal and characteristic twin guitars and vocal harmonies. With this new song in their repertoire, the band is ready for this summer's concerts!
______________________________________
Timechild  is massive and organic heavy rock from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band's soundscape is made up of a powerful and present lead vocal, characteristic twin guitars and atmospheric vocal harmonies, which together create their unique Scandinavian expression.

Timechild was formed in 2020 by four seasoned musicians from different corners of Denmark. With extensive past experience in a number of former and existing Danish rock and metal bands, the members had already crossed paths on both Danish and international stages. When the opportunity arose, they decided to unite their musical experiences and visions and created Timechild.

The debut album was written and recorded during the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, which paralysed the Danish and international music industry. However, this silence gave the band time to jointly develop their common sound and expression. The vision from the start was to show how heavy rock can continue to challenge and surprise audiences even in 2021. Although the foundation of the band's sound universe is clearly laid by the rock giants of the past, Timechild's inspiration is drawn from across both time and genres. The opportunity to dive into the music history of past decades, and through this define one's own sound, is one of the greatest privileges that today's musicians have at their disposal. We can learn from the past without being backward-looking or unoriginal and we can be relevant and innovative without having to define a new genre.

This same mindset also applies to Timechild's lyrics. The title of the debut album "And Yet It Moves" is, according to legend, the last phrase uttered by physicist and philosopher Galileo Galilei after the Vatican forced him to recant his scientific belief, that the Earth moves around the sun and not the other way around. It is precisely this human search for the purpose of our own existence and the struggle to elevate ourselves above the laws of nature, that are recurring themes in the album's textual universe.

The record was produced, mixed and mastered by Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Jesper Binzer, Thundermother, Marco Mendoza, Artillery). With his vast experience in the genre, both as a producer and musician, Soren was a natural choice when the band's songs were to be immortalised. The result is nine songs that show the band's broad dynamic range. From quiet, dark and melodic passages to over-marching twin guitars and energetic heavy rock.

Timechild's debut album, "And Yet It Moves", is out now via Mighty Music.

BATTERING RAM Second To None (album) UPRISING! Records Release: 15 July 2022

For fans of Judas Priest, D.A.D., Mustasch.

Battering Ram comes from a small Swedish mining town - Filipstad. A place you never heard of, a place you’ve never been to and a place you most likely will never visit. Up there north, in the Scandinavian woods, man is still man, life is still easy, and souls are still free. Up there music still rock. Hard. Hard as a rock.

This heavy-weight quartet founded in 2017 in the deepest forests of Sweden quickly arouse great interest among rock fans home in Scandinavia, as well as on the international ground. Rockers all over the world have realized that there are some heavy pieces of steel casted among gnomes and trolls in the Nordic fairy tale woodlands.

Hard as a rock and harder than hard rock. Heavy as lead but nor just metal. Still, at the end what Battering Ram plays is a plain straightforward rock n’ roll with a lot of weight, power and attitude.

With their first full length release, Battering Ram unabashed smashed in the doors to the rock scene. Their self- titled debut album unleashed in 2020 was welcomed with numerous positive reviews in music industry magazines such as Sweden Rock Magazine, Metal Temple and Roppongi Rocks. And now the Filipstad quartet is back with a new batch of killer songs. The eagerly awaited “Second To None” lives up to Battering Ram's high-profile raised by their debut album and delivers a collection of songs that are playbooks of what hard rock and heavy metal should sound like when they clash: raw, heavy and with gigantic hooks!

This band stands for everything that old-school rock music once was about. The band is both in sound and quality close to the genre’s heavyweights with its origins in the 1970s and 80s. While the solid base of Battering Ram’s sound is genuine and authentic, they still seal their music with their own modern signature.

“Second To None” will be released in digital, CD and LP (transparent red vinyl, limited to 300 units) by UPRISING! Records on July 15th, 2022.

Battering Ram will play on the opening day of the Nordic Noise Festival this year, in Copenhagen, Denmark, on May 6th.

Line-up:
Tony Trust - drums
Joakim “Jocke” Ståhl - bass
Jonas Edmark - guitars
Johan Hallström - vocals

SPASMODIA – MALICIOUS PREMONITIONS ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Indian Brutal Death Metal band Spasmodia’s debut EP.

This release offers a chaotic assault of dazzling riffs with little cohesion under a monotonous gore-imbued growl. While it may be enjoyed by fans of the most depraved and putrid of Death Metal, other listeners may find it overwhelming. It may also be considered Technical Death Metal, but the display of this side of the band results in an excessive amount of melodies that gatekeep the release even further.

If you enjoy massive amounts of virtuous slime spurring from your speakers then you should give it a play, but if you prefer to maintain your sanity intact perhaps you should put on something less extreme and more cohesive.

I recommend this EP to fans of Brutal Death Metal and Technical Death Metal. My rating is of 7,5/10.

IRDORATH – GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Austrian Black Metal band Irdorath’s debut album, celebrating its recent rerelease.

This album offers some fast-paced and furious Extreme Metal with a certainly dark fury to it. The full-length is plagued by catchy riffs and powerful melodies, and while it doesn’t display any element of innovation, it surely offers material of good quality.

While one may find Enthroned influences on the album, it also highly leans towards a Blackened Death Metal approach that gives it some extra strength without falling into excess. While it is aggressive, it also includes some obscure passages that give some depth to the maniac assault of thundering drums and relentless tremolo picking. It fits the central European Black Metal guidelines pretty well, but it also has some further bite that its peers don’t emphasize as much on. My personal highlights are “Windgeist” and “Form Des Todes”.

I recommend this album to fans of Black Metal and Blackened Death Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.

TROBAR DE MORTE - BARCELONA/SALA UPLOAD,23/04/2022 (Review by Javier Barba Vallejo ) SPA/ENG

 SPA:

ENG:

Last Saturday 4/23 we attended the concert offered by Trobar De Morte, a Pagan Folk Medieval band at the Sala Upload in Barcelona.
I have always loved Medieval Folk and since the end of the 90s I have been a follower of the artistic career of Mireia Garcia (Lady Morte), already in the Dark Wave band Ordo Funebris together with Sathorys Elenorth and Lady Nott, they recorded a Demo "Cantar a la Morte" (2002) two albums "Cantar a la Morte, Fabula Triste" (2003) and "Songs Of The Encharted Garden" (2003) today cult albums in the genre and difficult to acquire.

Ordo Funebris dissolved in the early 2000s into the two-band spin-off of Ambient Medieval, Narsilion led by Sathorys and Lady Nott from another strand of Neoclassical Dark Wave inspired by South African writer John Ronald Reuel Tolkien's mythology universe.
Mireia, as the versatile instrumentalist and composer Lady Morte, forms her Trobar de Morte project in a more Medieval Pagan Folk aspect influenced in many of her themes by Celtic roots, the orientation and theme of her lyrics goes through medieval and pagan fantasy worlds.

Much@s and very good@s have been the members who throughout these years have collaborated with Lady Morte in her Tobar de Morte project, achieving a consolidated career with an EP "Nocturnal Dance Of The Dragonfly" (2004), seven wonderful albums "Fairydust" (2004) , "Reverie" (2006) , Legends Of Blood And Light " (2008) , "Beyond The Woods - The Acoustic Sounds" (2011) , "The Silver Wheel" (2012) , " Ouroboros" (2016), "Witchcraft" (2018) and two official compilations "20 Years Of Music & Sorcery" (2020), "Book Of Shadows" (2020) and a limited edition live DVD of 500 copies "Live At Undead" (2016) which includes the band's performance in the mythical Undead room, a Gothic/Metal room run by Lady Morte together with her partner, the Metalhead Carlos Pulido, who also works as manager in Trobar de Morte, in addition to innumerable performances by All Europe .
It had been announced on facebook that the concert on 4/23 would be the last for the violinist "Caleb" (Javi Rubio).

On 4/23 was the "Diada de Sant Jordi" patron saint of Catalonia and it was a day meteorologically speaking of the strangest with four hailstorms, sun, heavy rain, wind and some temperature lags that changed by the minute, even while we were driving towards the concert Ana photographed a double rainbow !! , but all this made driving in the city a chaos that kept us in traffic jams and we arrived with the performance already started, which started earlier to give time to assemble, play, pick up and continue the night in the Undead room.
There as soon as we entered we met Javi Perez Galera who had also arrived late and quickly put a beer in our hands as if by magic, while in the back of the room on the stage Trobar de Morte displayed a pagan set wrapped in the medieval mysticism of his music...
On this occasion, six magnificent musicians immersed some 200 attendees in a mysterious Middle Ages full of folklore and mysticism.

Lady Morte on vocals, hurdy-gurdy and bouzouki with ram's horns on her head dressed as a pagan priestess in intense red dominated the center of the stage with whispering and melodic voices, in different songs she could play the bouzouki which is like a mandolin or the hurdy-gurdy another medieval string instrument commanded by a crank, also either alone or accompanied by the sensual dancer Amaru Sabat performed suggestive medieval dances, mystical rituals and dances with daggers and scimitars in a mathematical rapport, I am talking about that in the dances they had rapport until the contractions of the abdomen with the percussion of Luka's drums and drums, sublime...

With the passing of the show, the mystery and the Dark atmospheres gave way to a more Folk part and with it the flutes of the instrumentalist Uri Bokskog gave way to bagpipes giving a more festive atmosphere to the concert while the guitarist Ealaeth encouraged the public who kept a deathly silence while the show required it and I playfully collaborated in the animated Folk part.

For me it was a perfect concert within its genre with an outstanding sound thanks to its technician Albert Pozo and I recommend that you can see them this coming Friday 4/29 at the Shoko hall in Madrid, do it without a doubt it is a very good experience go to a Trobar de Morte concert.
I was able to chat with Carlos for a while and buy a super cool shirt at the merchandising and chat and take pictures with all of them in a friendly way, wishing Javi good luck after he left the band.
Original and great night lived in Upload, which will continue in Shoko, Almocila (Almeria) in La Noche de los Candiles and then European tour !!!!!
HAIL TROBAR DE MORTE !!!!!!
