ROKETS unleash new single "Destroyer"; A homage to Lemmy, Philthy Animal and Fast Eddie!

Rokets launch the electrifying singel ”Destroyer”. The second single leading up to the Finnish five piece’s sophomore album ”Break Free” offers guitar driven and energized rock’n’roll at its finest, blending gritty vocals with distorted guitars and pounding drums.

Sami from Rokets about the single:

Destroyer is the second appetizer from the upcoming album of ours titled Break Free. This song has been one of our favorites for quite some time now and actually came together very naturally. I left our rehearsal space and had a walk to the bus stop while this riff started playing in my head. I was humming it, recorded it on my phone and presented it to our guitarist Sakke the next time we met. He finished the song right away and I wrote some lyrics to it while thinking about the song Bomber by MotörheadDestroyer is an obvious homage to LemmyPhilthy Animal and Fast Eddie; an all-guns-blazing-no-filler-sonic-killer.

"Destroyer" is mixed by Robert Pehrsson (Robert Pehrsson’s Humbucker, Black Breath, Dundertåget, etc.) and mastered at Svenska Grammofonstudion. The single is released on all streaming platforms on the 26th of August via The Sign Records.

Pearls & Flames - Reliance (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Swedish AOR band Pearls & Flames’ debut album.

This release combines the freshness of a debut with the experience of veteran musicians with many other projects to offer a solid album that is catchy and very easy-going. Its core is AOR and Melodic Rock that reminds of White Lion and has a strong Swedish identity.

The full-length has many ballads and light songs, but there’s also some elements of action to infuse some grooves into the offering, which has a pretty 70s aura. Certain tracks also seem to lean towards Pop Rock, but it is all pretty diverse and may appeal to a wide spectrum of Rock fans. My personal highlights are “Temple Of Lust” and “Secret Love”.

I recommend this album to fans of Melodic Rock, AOR and Pop Rock. My rating is of 8/10.

Get Ready To Rumble! Hardcore Thrash Crossover SPLIT IMAGE Unleash Single "Night Hag" To Kick Off Tour Dates w/ Psycho Mantis

L-R - Jared Mooney - Lead Guitar, Joey Sia - Rhythm Guitar, Nadesha Mariudottir - Bass, Joshua "Josh" Escobar - Vocals, Christian "Chris" Sia - Drums

California's Split Image is set to hit the road across six states from August 26th to September 10th with friends Psycho Mantis. Excited to stir up mosh pits for twelve shows over two weeks, Split Image is sharing their new single "Night Hag", a track the band will be performing live for the first time in front of a crowd.

"I think our fans are going to love it! We haven’t played it live yet, so it’ll be extra spicy once it drops. We wanted to make a song to get fans pumped as if they are walking down a ramp and into a wrestling ring while their opponent is waiting to be squashed in 5 minutes." adds guitarist Joey Sia.

Written by the Sia brothers Chris (drums) and Joey (guitar), the track is about sleep paralysis as they explain further:

"For Night Hag we really wanted a song that a lot of people could relate to, sleep paralysis! The pure terror and helplessness you feel when you experience it, even if you know you’re just in a dream state, it’s still a pretty messed up thing to experience. Part of it also came from the Batman villain Scarecrow who uses his fear toxin to cause involuntary hallucinations based on the victim's worst fears. Musically, Night Hag has a simple structure in its composition. The song has a catchy riff throughout the whole time while the drums change the dynamics throughout the song. I think people can bang their heads off listening to Night Hag!"

The new single "Night Hag" follows the band's most recent album "Torrent of Illusion" released on June 1st of this year. A gritty and powerful crossover experience, the band expects an enthusiastic reception from their fans due to its intensity, and also its relatability. The album and the new stand-alone single "Night Hag" pack many punches, as their music deals with intense lyrical themes surrounding mental health and rounds itself out with aggressive hard-hitting instrumentals.

Split Image combines a unique sound that boasts familiarity from their mash-up of genres of thrash, punk, crust, and a solid nod to old-school hardcore. They are recommended for fans of Power Trip, Enforced, and Dead Heat.
