CRYOSPHERE: New single “PRAY”

CRYOSPHERE is a Danish metal duo with a focus on creating music that explores a wide variety of styles, thus having a unique and fresh proposal.

This ability to work as a duo is an incredible opportunity to add more variety, as well as embrace a broader mix of traditional and digital sounds.

Their new song "pray" comes from an old demo, which was restructured and partly rewritten with the help of producer Lowrater.

CRYOSPHERE has its own sonic space in the mix, and “pray” feels like a perfect opportunity to push the boundaries and sound of the duo.

Mixing and mastering by Jacob Hansen, who did an excellent job. The sound is incredibly powerful, combining elements of nu-metal and alternative metal with electronic and industrial sounds.

As a result of this dichotomy, "pray" is also quite cinematic and visual. This is a very eclectic song, highlighting the great versatility and wide range that makes the duo's art so special and unique.

RIGOR SARDONICOUS stream new MEMENTO MORI album at 666MrDoom

Today, apocalyptic doom cult Rigor Sardonicous stream the entirety of their long-awaited seventh album, Praeparet Bellum, at the 666MrDoom YouTube channel. Set for international release on January 23rd via Memento Mori, hear Rigor SardonicousPraeparet Bellum in its entirety exclusively HERE.

True purveyors of aural torment, Rigor Sardonicous are one of the cultest bands of the American death metal underground. Formed in 1988, the long-standing duo of bassist Glenn Hampton and vocalist/guitarist Joseph Fogarazzo remain one of the darkest and creepiest bands calling "death metal" home. Aided by their ever-trustworthy drum-machine, Rigor Sardonicous are utterly lifeless and excruciatingly slow, almost daring the listener to find any "fun" in their all-devouring void of inertia. You could almost qualify their music(k) as doom-death, but not in the traditional sense; existing for as long as (and even longer) than aesthetic forebears like Unholy and Evoken, Rigor Sardonicous' slo-mo sizzle equally bears a future-primitive texture not unlike earliest Godflesh or especially the cult Skin Chamber.

And so it goes with Praeparet Bellum, the band's first full-length recording in over a decade. Immediately and ruinously recognizable as Rigor Sardonicous, Praeparet Bellum thankfully features all the duo's signature elements - crushing heaviness, beyond-guttural vocals, and the very slowest of songwriting movement - but devolves them to a frightening degree. Perhaps because of their eerie absence since 2012's Memento Mori-released Ego Diligio Vos, Rigor Sardonicous sound more unique than ever on Praeparet Bellum: the subgenres of doom-death and funeral doom are definitely in full swing, but there's little to nothing around as unremittingly EMPTY and HOPELESS as this. You don't "listen" to this album, and you most definitely don't "endure" it; its ominous corpulence is only experienced. Bleak? That's simply too fun.

Here stands the End of all Ends. Be warned: you will NOT return from Rigor Sardonicous' Praeparet Bellum!

Fully not-return exclusively HERE, courtesy of the 666MrDoom YouTube channel. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

DEFY THE CURSE
HORRORS OF HUMAN SACRIFICE

2-CD/LP/MC/DIGITAL

"Horrors of Human Sacrifice", the debut album from Defy the Curse is out today on 2-CD, LP, MC and digital! Crust infested blisteringly bone crunching HM-2 Death Metal from the Lowlands!

Former members of Collision, Cauterize, Inhume, The Guilt Parade, Mangled and Legion of the Damned reunited in 2016. All from well-known acts from the North Limburg region, they found each other in their “old love doesn’t rust” for crust infested old school Death Metal!

Raging buzzsaw guitars and raunchy vocals are spat out at a rapid pace, mixed with a grooving rhythm section for maximum impact. Defy the Curse is suffocating in its grooves and rousing and extremely headbangable at its fastest.

ACID UFO DEATH CULT – חשֶׁךְ (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Italian Raw Black Metal band Acid UFO Death Cult’s new demo.

This short release displays an eerie glimpse in what may become an interesting project in the near future. While it is mainly Raw Black Metal that brings to mind early Striborg, it incorporates some experimental elements that, mixed with the synth implementation, remind of Zwetwezen.

If you want something fast, badly recorded and yet mysterious, you may want to check it out. While it shares similarities with other current Raw Black Metal demos, it has its own personality and touches concepts that may be nice to hear fully developed. My personal highlights are “Sun Outside, Chills Inside Me” and “Ruins”.

I recommend this demo to fans of Raw Black Metal and Experimental Black Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
