BPMD, the new band of Bobby ‘Blitz’ Ellsworth, Mike Portnoy, Mark Menghi and Phil Demmel already has a record label

BPMD (Blitz, Portnoy, Menghi and Demmel) is the new band made up of reputed musicians
from the metal scene: Bobby 'Blitz' Ellsworth (voice, Overkill), Mike Portnoy (drums,
The Winery Dogs, Sons Of Apollo), Mark Menghi (Metal Allegiance) and Phil Demmel (guitarist,
Vio-Lence, former Machine Head). They just stamped their signature on a contract with the
record label Napalm Records.

The objective of this project is to recover rock classics and sift them with a heavier style,
according to their own influences. “The BPDM sessions were a lot of fun. They took us back
to our roots or even before our roots. While we were carrying them out we realized that it
was something special, and this was how Napalm Records perceived it with just one listen. ”

In previous statements, Demmel referred to BPMD's debut album as an album of versions of
classic American bands from the 1970s, such as ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, James Gang, Aerosmith,
Grand Funk Railroad ... adapted to a style closer to metal. .
