Testament Frontman Describes What It’s Like to Have the Coronavirus

Testament frontman Chuck Billy was one of the first high-profile members of the metal community to come down with COVID-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus. Testament were on tour in Europe with Exodus and Death Angel through late February before dates started getting canceled, but it wasn’t until all three bands returned home in mid-March that they started experiencing symptoms.

In addition to Billy, Exodus guitarist Gary Holt and Death Angel drummer Will Carroll came down with COVID-19, with the latter hospitalized and still in rough shape. Other members of the touring party allegedly fell ill as well, including Testament bassist Steve Di Giorgio.
