PURE STEEL RECORDS supports George Neal (HALLOWEEN) / call for a fundraising campaign Our Pure Steel Brother and HALLOWEEN bassist George Neal was examined a few months ago with a tumor on the right kidney. The kidney was recently surgically removed and George was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer (the spread of the tumor is still local and no metastases have formed). George Neal must now recover and undergo further tests and treatments until hopefully a full recovery. Because of the current - Corona-related - income situation for musicians and the fact his wife had to take unpaid leave to care for him, an online fundraising campaign was launched to support George and his family in these difficult times. He and HALLOWEEN have taken part in so many actions in the past to do good, now all metalheads have the opportunity to give something back to him. Apart from the sounds of US-Metal by DARK ARENA, singer Juan Ricardo (also RITUAL, SUNLESS SKY, WRETCH, ATTAXE) and keyboardist Vincent Veith (also GHOST SHIP, VELVET VOYAGE) devoted themselves to another project in 2005: THE VEITH RICARDO PROJECT. The concept of the formation, which also included guitarist Neil Zaza, bassist Doug Johns, drummer Chris Ceja and Jerry Brightman at Pedal Steel, is based on a Prog Rock and Prog Metal American sound. The compositions are contemporary metallic for the turn of the millennium and are of course based on a rock foundation with keyboard components. The varied material does not necessarily move in the direction of musicals or rock operas, but rather pleases the prog metaller with a preference for concepts. That THE VEITH RICARDO PROJECT also moves in the spheres of the late SAVATAGE is testimony to the class of this project. In 2005, the recording was left incomplete as a demo. But in 2020, because of the Covid 19 shutdown, Vincent Veith and Juan Ricardo finally had the time to go back to the studio and finish the album.  Originally recorded by Michael Seifert at Ante-Up Studios, Cleveland. The two came together to play pure heavy metal with fast and simple riffs, rhythmic impact, earsplitting high-notes and a powerful double bass drums. At those times the song Angel Martyr was born, then it became the band’s name. After some months, the members realized that their musical visions were different, often very divergent. So they decided to keep their beautiful friendship but to stop this adventure together. On the Heavy Metal Night 2012 (concert with underground bands from Italy and from abroad) he proposed to an old friend, Destroyer Rostix, to start this adventure in the Martyrs.
